They did a reissue of this pedal. It is just misunderstood. Sold a lot of pedals recently but kept this one. A true classic.

Totally agree 💯 you can get some great tones from these 👌🎸

It's an awesome pedal and tons of fun. Haters can kick rocks. It's a supreme case of hate becoming trendy. Most guys who hate it have never used one. I have one on my board, it's never leaving.

You can pull more gain if turn the level to about 10 o clock and turn the dist to 3 pm..an scoop out the mids..puts out less noise

I had this pedal in the 90s and recorded direct to my 4 track tape machine. Sounded like NIN lol. Tried it with my band (solid state crate half stack) and hated it. 30 years later I’m about to go into my local music shop and buy it again! Cheers

I recommend if your amp has an fx loop, to put the pedal though the fx loop, pretty much works best as a preamp pedal
@EnigmaticAnamoly9 ай бұрын
Great point. I think Ola delved into this a little on his review of it.
@PaladinStallion3 ай бұрын
I have a Boss MS-3 that has the Metal Zone model on. It sounds just as tinny and shitty as the actual pedal does. I'm gonna give it another shot in the FX loop.
@Shred_The_Weapon Жыл бұрын
One reason why I purchased a Boss ME-80 was to experiment with the MT-2 emulation to see if it could be reconfigured to sound like a Tom Scholz distortion generator. Considering it only has one control for all four EQ settings, I was frankly amazed that my main issue with that particular sound was how it didn’t really clean up when I rolled back the volume on my guitar. Ironically, that’s almost what I heard in your demo.

Proud owner of an MT-2 3A... Everyone should own one... (Use it as a pre-amp though)🤘
@MultiGoulash5 ай бұрын
Yeah i bought one of these MT-2 3A pedals recently, paid £90 for it brand new which is oddly way cheaper than the standard one for some reason. And for those wondering what it is, it's the 30th Anniversary model in black and grey

Be it in the fx loop or front of amp, I’m always able to get good tones from it. The knobs are that sensitive but once you get what you want it freaking rocks! Don’t understand ppl who hate the MT-2. Most probably no patience.

I always dug it. It made cheap solid state combos sound at least halfway to the brutality of an Engl or something

Would you run it through both the send and return or just the return? Cuz if it's just return, how would you run other pedals in your loop? Im new to fx loops.

Send and return cause you want it before the pre amp

I may be somewhat new at this, but I've been reading a lot of negative things about this pedal, and I just don't get it. I've been frontloading this thing since I got it a few months ago, and though it takes some fiddling to find the right tone for it, I've been able to record some good stuff with it

Can't figure out what's truly so wrong with this pedal...? This sounds quite robust which is difficult sound to get with amplifiers main set up or with many crunch/O-D/Distortion pedals alone. Might buy one some day or something similar... :PP
@bmir89 Жыл бұрын
There's nothing wrong with them. Infact it's probably the best metal tone a guitar player on a budget will get. The pedals garbage reputation has just followed it from the 90's, which consisted of every wannabe Metallica 16 year old, plugging it in their amp (not their FX loop as recommended) and just cranking every knob to 11, while playing a $140 Peavy guitar, usually through an equally crappy amp - in a basement with just concrete walls and floor. Everyone I know who has ever played them with decent gear and a bit of patience and knowledge got then to sound just fine as far as distortion pedals go.
