THE INSANE STORY OF SILK ROAD - The illegal online marketplace on the darkweb, where you can buy ANYTHING imagine... Welcome to: "A Journey Into The Dark Web: The INSANE Story of Silk Road".
Beneath the normal internet we all know - like KZbin, Facebook, and Google - there lies the dark web - an anonymous unregulated world, with websites not accessible from search engines, a hidden corner of the internet where anything goes. For a while, the biggest site on the dark web was Silk Road, an online black market for all kinds of illegal goods and services. But what’s perhaps most surprising of all about this, is who was behind this illegal empire. Meet Ross Ulbricht, Silk Road's creator. Ross grew up in a loving family in Texas. He was a boy scout as a kid, studied physics at university, and was thought of as a very sweet guy by all his friends and family. So, imagine their shock, when they realized Ross was the criminal mastermind behind the largest online drug empire in history, responsible for over $1.2 billion dollars worth of sales of illegal goods and services. Not just that, but this sweet kid had reportedly paid hit men to kill his enemies.… Or, did he? To this day there is debate over whether Ross is guilty or not.
In this Silk Road documentary, we’re going to dive into the murky world of the dark web and explore the true story behind the infamous Silk Road marketplace. We’re also going to look at how the government really managed to track down Ross, despite the fact that Ross was using the Tor browser which made him completely anonymous. How do you find someone who can’t be tracked? This is a true story filled with mysteries, twists and even a couple of corrupt government agents. Welcome to the fascinating story of the Silk Road website on the dark web. (aka: The Story Of SILK ROAD: A Journey Into The Dark Web - How They Caught The Silk Road Kingpin by MagnatesMedia).

Hey legends, I’m sure some of you are familiar with the history of Silk Road already, but honestly the full in-depth story is fascinating. It just keeps getting crazier the more it goes on. 😅 Anyway, I really hope you enjoy. And if you do, I highly recommend checking out this video afterwards: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3XFmJhvYsako8U (it’s the story of the Bitcoin billionaires, and ties in very nicely with the story of Silk Road!) Finally, big thanks to Guardio for sponsoring this video. Security is one of those things you often don’t properly think about until it's too late. So do yourself a favour and take advantage of Guardio’s special deal for MagnatesMedia viewers & keep your browser and personal info secure: guard.io/MagnatesMedia EDIT: I'm sure you already know this, but if someone replies to your comment with any sort of number / link / contact info etc, it's a scam. There's lots of fake accounts using my logo / name pretending to be me, but it's completely fake.

While I had IRL things to deal with over the past year, I'm glad to see you went from under 5k subs to over 300k, proving it's possible. Rex Tom, FBI Director of Investigative Publicity, stated in 2006 about the FBI's position: “The FBI gathers evidence. Once evidence is gathered, it is turned over to the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice then decides whether it has enough evidence to present to a federal grand jury. In the case of the 1998 United States Embassies being bombed, bin Laden has been formally indicted and charged by a grand jury. He has not been formally indicted and charged in connection with 9/11 because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting bin Laden to 9/11.”

I've heard this story from several channels by now, but this one is truly most captivating! For one, the host allows himself to treat the person in question as protagonist instead of being slicky about it, and so the viewer can understand the story on more levels, including compassion. In modern days almost all media outlets act as if they're judges instead of journalists, attaching their judgement to everything they say, trying to push one or another agenda. It became really rare when human beings are treated as human beings and facts are given as is, without staining (or outright spoiling) them with the politically "correct" tint. Good job.

I mean.. there's opinions and tints in this video as well. He does potray Ross as a good person trying to do good in the world. And I'm not saying that Ross was a villain. But that's the thing about storytelling. You can never be truly unbiased. The narrator is sympathetic to Ross' ideology and it shows. Again - I'm not saying that is wrong.

lol. That's great. All jokes aside....when it comes to drugs it's kinda on each person to know their own limits and to be careful. You can't possibly regulate everyone from doing what they are going to do. If they don't order drugs on silk road they will order or find them somewhere else if they so choose. The "war on drugs" is the perfect example of this. Drug use and incarceration rates have gone up and up since the government has gone after it more and more. They literally create the problem they claim to want to solve with these policies. It's quite literally crazy to try and stop people from wanting to experience a high of some sort or another. It's embedded in our genetics to do so.

As a web developer, it takes a different level of incompetency to leak an IP via bad code, its almost so unfathomable that it would probably have to be done intentionally. It’s much more likely the US government illegally tracked the ip using backdoors they created to their own system.

It’s also pretty important to note that this dude wasn’t very smart, he chose to work on the world’s most illegal website in libraries and cafes lol; the only reason I actually do question the “ip leak” is because it is said that he had real and specialized developers verifying his code and helping him improve it, that’s where my doubts lie.

Correction: you could not buy/sell items that weren't drugs. Otherwise your item would be shut down from the inventory. The rumor that you could buy such items or services were most likely made from confusion over other websites similar to the Silk road that would have no limits on what could be sold/buy.

The problem with this case was the timing. Ross was ahead of his time. I live in Miami, I don’t consume drugs, I’m not even sure how legal it is here, but I see plenty of stores around the city selling weed (or at least weed equivalents like Delta 8). What is the difference between that and this Silk Road? Timing is everything in life.

Yeah what Ross did through Silk Road the Canada British Columbia government gives these illegal substances for free now. And to underage kids without parental consent. You guys got to google it, hell on earth. The police for all of last year stood in front of the court house and give away ur choice of cocaine, heroine or crack. It’s legal here to use and carry and sell. I pray no one copies Canada bc these little kids are all dying from fentanyl and meth young young 😢 and the government gives it away free without parental consent now it’s legal

There is a missing girl, 26 years old, and she was missing in a very strange way. When her mother went to look for her, the policemen and the FBI were not cooperative, on the contrary, they wanted to hide the evidence, and even the lawyers were rejecting this case, and they also found the remains of the bones of this girl, but not complete. The skull was separated from the spine, and they did not find the whole bones, and the details of the story are very shocking. We want justice for this girl, Jawaher Al-Hajji.

Had experienced numerous countdown videos in mid 2010s about subjects now covered on online commentary or documentary channels as of early 2020s. The evolution of formatting knowledge grown into those once adhered to countdown channels evolved their curiosity until shifted into absorbing alt information via channels like this which present more information. Exposed mysteries & time alloted in awaiting now revealed secrets, resulted, overtime, into abilities of content creators. Topics went from landing a number in 40 seconds of condensed, repetitive information on countdowns to become entire sagas surrounding once numbered "conspiracies" seemingly glossed over compared to now. With harbored knowledge accumulating into creating accurate storylines joined hands with a projected subscriber curiosity growth leading to a collective unveiling of even written off "conspiracies."
