Mean to just give a teaser Ivan. Other top trainers would have shared this an used that invitation to encourage folks to come to their website. You're saying you have a better method than everyone else but you have to pay me to see it. OK, but it didn't encourage me to head on over. You're a better marketer than this.

@ElisabethBaumgart2 ай бұрын
I completely agree. This video is more off-putting than inviting, because being teased is not what people came here for. Never frustrate potential customers to a point when they stop being motivated and start feeling gutted instead. I reasile that it's a very fine line, though, and very individual. Some might take action and book the course, others will never watch any of your videos again in "fear" of being teased again only.

I allow my dog some possession of the toy, if I let go of the toy or go still he's happy because he gets possession. When I give the out he gets an immediate rebite at first, then less and less so. If the dog ever preempts the out and let's go because a lack of movement, I'd back tie them and work some possession.

After re-watching one of my old Ivan Balabanov videos, I found the KEY to correcting my Malinois' dog reactivity was TUG PLAY! It worked like magic. PLAY is what matters! Thanks Ivan for showing me how to overcome our biggest behavior problem.

Could you please share this video? I could not find it and I am struggling with the same issue with my dog. Thanks!
@barbschommer83313 жыл бұрын
@@taranveersaran7790 It was the Training Without Conflict. The video wasn't meant to address reactivity, I merely noticed Ivan's use of tug play for reward. I had previously tried trainers and they all used food. It never worked. But the tug was our magic bullet. When I noticed (body language) he was getting anxious at the proximity or look of a dog, I would offer tug. He took it 100% of the time. He soon learned my "game" and he would recognize his own anxiety and LOOK AT ME - asking for tug. That was the win!! Now he's usually offleash in public. If he feels any anxiety, he will look to me. Asking for a cue and I can tell him leave it and he relaxes and turns back to play. We used the dog park, but stayed OUTSIDE the fence, to use those dogs to train without any risk of a fight. Set the distance your dog can still do obedience and play and shorten the distance as your dog can tolerate it.I hope that helps you.

@barbschommer83313 жыл бұрын
@@Ferbocarbo it IS that simple. the majority of neighborhood dog trainers use all sorts of tricks and gadgets. All you need is play. I have a Malinois - descended from Ivan's Django, actually. And using tug play for rewarding dog behavior makes training easy peasy. I actually learned that from Ivan, so.....

What dog do you have a Labrador?
@ElisabethBaumgart2 ай бұрын
@@cretudavid8622 What he sells may be valuable, but if you think putting a price on something automatically increases its objective value, you're as easily manipulated as any dog in training. It's clear as day that standard dog training psychological tricks are being applied upon us here. Just like when my dog doesn't have much prey drive but I want to reward him with a toy he dislikes and I make said toy "valuable" through manipulation. As a potential customer, I feel very much disrespected. I may seek help, but dumb I'm not. Dog trainers better not play psychological tricks like that on me, if they want me to buy the valuable stuff they're selling.
