This Sunday morning I was watching videos of all the devastation happening because of hurricane Helene. One video was a woman showing a road broken up totally destroyed that went to her house. Almost directly after I went to the BOM to finish prepping for my lesson that day, I came upon this scripture 3 Nephi 8:13 :And the highways were broken up, and the level roads were spoiled, and many smooth places became rough. Wow, the BOM is certainly for our day. I keep thinking of your words saying study 3:11, I guess I missed that from the prophet haha! So it’s been in my mind, it is directly related to our day. My uncle moved to Switzerland as a physicist to work on that machine for maybe ten years or more. He moved back about two years ago, but I remember them talking about it. I had no clue it was this intense though! Maybe I should talk to him about it. He is a professor at uvu now.

I live in South Carolina-so much devastation in the areas surrounding this area due to Hurricane Helene. The worst being in the mountains of SC, NC, Tennessee. People have been swept away in mudslides, roads and highways, bridges completely destroyed. Our mountains and towns are changed forever. The mainstream media is not talking about this. Please pray for those in this area. Our power if finally back up in my home. Thank you for the videos, they are inspiring and much needed in these days! Keep up the great work!

I've always thought it likely that King Benjamin delivered his talk on the Feast of the Tabernacles (booths) when all the families gathered in their tents to listen, like what we do at home during general conference. That King Benjamin would gather his people in the fall was befitting as fall is a time to gather the harvest, to give thanks and to reflect on where we are in life. A first look at church booklet on Family Home Storage entitled "All is Safely Gathered In" I thought, "Of course, when all the wheat is gathered in we won't be in famine when hard times come." Then it hit me. We are the wheat. We, God's children, are to be gathered to safety as we follow the principles of the gospel. The righteous is a strong body of saints (members or not) while the tares are individuals that can be sifted, separated and destroyed easily. Our choices sift us.

I stopped celebrating Halloween years ago. It made it easier while living in Italy. But now we live in a small town in Eastern Idaho and there are hundreds of kids out here and they fully celebrate Halloween here. Ugh now my step daughter lives with us and she wants to hand out candy. I’ve decided it’s her choice and I cannot enforce my views on her. She wants to have fun so who am I to stop her from having fun? She isn’t a member of the church and I don’t expect her to bend to our beliefs/views either. I’m conflicted a little but I let it go. My heart and mind despises Halloween because I do not want to give the enemy anymore power or attention.

I feel that it is all about the intent. The commercialized Halloween is truly just a fun day to wear costumes, pass out candy and trick-or -treat and holds great memories for many. I don't give a single thought to the enemy on that day because that's not what it's about for me or most other people. I know that there are certainly those out there with different intent for the day but it's not even a thought in my mind. I feel that it will be what we make it to be.

I really like your show, Lindsay, but I just don’t agree with your Halloween theory. I lived in a country where Halloween was a very Christian holiday. It was a time to honor their families members on the other side of the veil. If you’ve ever seen CoCo then you would a see a bit of what this holiday means to certain people around the world. They don’t, however, do Halloween/All Hallows Eve the same way most people here in the US do it. They don’t trick or treat or dress up like monsters. In fact I don’t like that part of it either. So even though my kids did go trick or treating, they did not dress up like monsters or other gross things. I feel like a lot of it is what we make of it. For me, it’s just another part of the fall/harvest time. It’s never been about the devil. And I also think you saying it’s all about the devil could be kind of offensive to those members of the Church who live in countries where All Hallows Eve is a very family oriented, Christian holiday. But of course, you have the right to your opinion.
