Yes, totally agree! Crumble topping adds delicious flavor as well as texture to contrast what it's put on! I read the rinsing frozen blueberries on a blog somewhere, and it helps (not completely), though using fresh is still better!

Parents are coming over, I happen to have everything including a great big bag of frozen blueberries that I bought when pretty much all the rest of the fruit was already gone during the grocery store raids of early summer covid-19. Everything about you is so aesthetic even (especially) your realistic kitchen set up! That's a really neat idea to just fold your parchment paper around the serving plate as well. I made this cake using your recipe for the cake and the crumble topping. But I did something slightly different: I had leftover cranberry sauce that I had made for Thanksgiving with ginger and cinnamon that I had put in the freezer because most of it didn’t get eaten. So I made the cake, spread the thawed cranberry sauce on top, then spread the crumble topping on that and baked it off. The cake was a success!
