Yeah, you really don't want your military doing things that would make them look soft, weak or dumb. When an enemy country hears about the US military they need to be afraid. They need to be demoralized at the thought of even fighting us. When you see crap like this that basically takes a dump on that image. Our military should make Vlad the impaler blush imho. That's how you guarantee you don't get attacked.

Had a kid in my class when we were in the fifth grade who wore military camouflage clothes that were his dad’s, there was a hole he would fiddle with that was just over the lower left rib cage. He was a big kid and he could almost fill it out. Our science teacher was a Vietnam veteran and while he never approved he didn’t say anything. One day he comes in wearing the camo and he has a Purple Heart and a bronze star pinned to his clothes. I knew what the Purple Heart meant but at the time not the bronze star. We get into science class and while the teacher was going through the list of whose there he stops at the kid in camo. He walks over to him and says, “Does your father know you have those?” He replies “No”. The teacher takes the most bone chilling inhale exhale I have ever heard. He’s not by any means the kind of guy who looks like someone you want to joke with at first glance, he’s almost 7 feet tall and looks like he still lifts weights. After he exhaled he leans over and says, “You have two minutes to remove them before I drag you to your house by your foot!” He went on to explain to the class what each represented and tells how the kids dad saved saved two members of his unit while in a firefight while wounded. This led to my best friend to become inspired to join the military after high school. The kid never wore the uniform.

@@davidwillis2428 He never cared for his dad up to that point it seemed. I already thought what I wrote was long but, he wore the camo for intimidation against other kids. At the time a lot of people in the neighborhood were veterans and they were very respectful. But a lot of non veterans were very antagonistic. My classmate had a mom who while she loved her husband hated that he had been injured in the line of duty. The family moved during our sixth grade year but this kid had never respected his father until the teacher told him the story. Something his mom apparently was against, she didn’t want her son to join the military to earn medals while bleeding in some foreign country. So she told her husband never talk about his career. The teacher was excessive I agree, but I also knew this kid was definitely on a direction at the time that seemed like he was going to have a permanent residence in the principals office because he was there so much. It seemed like after hearing what his dad did to earn those medals at the least he started to be a little better.

I was in the company doing the baby shark cadence, this took place in fort Gordon with 25 series. That DS was legendary in the company for having the best cadences, he sang all the good ones, unofficially the story is some were uncensored

I was with my grandpa shopping black Friday actually and he was a marine in Vietnam. Someone actually was doing this and he's not one for aggression he walked up to them and folded his arms stared right into their soul told them take off the uniform and that they were being disrespectful. I always looked up to my grandpa he gave me a marine challenge coin when I was 13 and I'm now gonna be 22.

That ANA training video brings back memories, memories of how corrupt a lot of the things we did were and how inexcusably bad the ANA recruits were compared to the IS capable fighters, some of whom did switch sides and went on to become Afghan Commandos, now most of whom are probably Taliban instructors now. *smh* Also, that stolen valor video has to be the most obnoxious video about some dude claiming to be a US Army Ranger when he obviously isn't. Both because of the guy just fishing for a military discount and the guy recording the video who is obviously battling PTSD due to his time in service and while in Afghanistan.

Stolen Valor happened to me in Germany once, as I was out shopping with a friend, we saw a boy probably 15 yrs old and he had somewhat of an uniform mixed with his private clothes. Sadly we weren't in our Uniform, but we go to him tell him that that's wrong, that we're going to report him to the MP and that there is probably going to be a fine of some cash. Never saw someone undress his Uniform as fast as he had done

You said mixed with civies? Was he wearing patches because stolen valor is only when someone is wearing patches they didn't earn. Wearing multicamo or parts of the uniform are fine. Heck honestly you could dress fully in standard OCP's with military boots and cap and as long as you have no patches you didn't earn and weren't claiming to be in its not stolen valor.

Everyone knows the US flag patch is in reverse & isn’t colored if I recall correctly. Also not all patches doesn’t come exactly like the real deal. Loved their reactions to these military vids. Especially the universal experienced soldier who didn’t know how to operate his AK. One vid that was funniest to watch in this episode was that Drill Instructor who ordered the cadet to pick up his weapon and put it down countless times. I think that would be perfect for a heavy metal music video. I’m lucky I’ve never signed up to serve the army. The Swedish Armed Forces that is. I’m just gonna sit in my nice safe room watching Cam and Izzy entertain me and put a smile on my face.

I think you're safe. I believe the actual law pertains to it being illegal to wear medals you didn't earn. Plus, as you're only 14, most people wouldn't think you were trying to impersonate a soldier, unless you appear much older than your age. Also, unlike the doofus in the video, if someone asks you about it, you're going to tell them about your uncle I presume, not try to convince them you just did 3 tours in the middle east. That's what makes that guy so much worse. If he had just been like "no man, this is just a costume I bought, then I doubt people would be quite so mad about it, but instead he is making shit up and actively trying to deceive.
