When looking at the price for PC handhelds I think people need to remember they're buying a full blown computer, rather than a console. It just seems people expect to pay more when looking at a laptop or something, but the form factor automatically makes them want it to be priced closer to the Nintendo Switch. It might suck if you only want to use it to play some games, but the prices some people seem to expect really isn't feasible. (With so many people selling their old LCD Steam Decks for around $200 it really is a deal for the specs you're getting. Talk about a great available entry point to PC gaming)

I agree - and I think the specs inside the AYANEO are insane and justifiable, but when you can get similar performance out of an ally it's hard to consider

My exact thing with all the handhelds with keyboards, I need to see a keyboard test, I want to know how if works but no one really shows this

Great review!! It would be cool to see a comparison with the GPD WIN Mini if you can get your hands on one!

If you set your set your resolution to 720p it will noticeably improve your battery life. That’s what I do for my GPD Win Mini (running Bazzite) and for AAA games I average about 2.25 to 3.5 hrs depending on the game

Bro those bezels are way too big for my taste. Could they have made them and the whole device a bit smaller?

Really appreciate the clear and concise review, and you hit all the points someone may be curious about. I backed the 8840U/64G/2T to use for travel, mostly for development media consumption with the occasional gaming. Really looking forward to getting it. Oh, and because you asked: 🍆

That’s rather subjective. They both have ups and downs. The Win Mini is well built with good ergonomics, but the small function buttons beneath the gamepad are too close together. Having large hands, I need move my thumbs across the rows to very I’m hitting the right buttons. The Flip has much better thermal management which is a huge deal because it’s TDP isn’t capped like the Mini, but the offset sticks don’t seem comfortable with so little grip. I’ve tried the Loki and it’s very similar in terms of a short grip and it feels awkward to use. At the end of the day, I don’t think one is necessarily better than the other. It just depends on what you value and your use case

2024 called. Some of us want a physical keyboard back. (Also, it's a touch ironic that somebody scoffing at stuff being outdated is using the phrase " called.")

On a handheld I actually thinks it makes a ton of sense - especially for online/ team based games. Communication is important.
@2Good2B4Gotten4Real4 ай бұрын
I prefer it with the physical keyboard. Especially since this device is for playing computer games and computer games require you to press keys to play. So instead of aggressive key binding just to make a computer game playable, I can just use the physical keyboard. I have a steam deck and the digital keyboard on there sucks. It doesn't always pop up when you press the buttons for it to pop up, and you have to press those buttons more than just once for it to pop up. I also have a Nintendo switch and the keyboard on there also sucks. It's not very sensitive to typing and causes you to make a lot of mistakes in typing, so playing an MMORPG or mmo on Nintendo Switch is an absolute pain because chatting with other players is so time consuming and annoying
