I like the hunter take on it (: Had an idea for open world PvP I do love high risk but what if they had a seperate currency for high risk kills that allowed you to buy, say open world PvP sets essentially equivalent to honor gear or somewhere between honor and arena gear to really promote open world pvp

Found a little upgrade to the build. adding explosive trap for AOE, while forbidden teleport to melee set the trap for more free explosive shot procs and more AOE cause work with epic RE too :)

Forbidden Technique is a great Single Target PVE build. A guy in my guild drops 7k consistently on raid bosses. It just requires the right gear and abilities.

I gotta say. First of all happy Birthday 🎊 I’m working on making Forbidden Technique work in PvE. It’s about 2k max in Aoe and about 2.5k in singletarget. Kinda very hard to make this work without a pet i think.

@Mcdoubles Should look into Lost Ark. I'm no expert, but as far as I can tell all the PvP in that game is scaled, but there isn't world PvP but instanced. Take a look might tickle your fancy its the only game I'm looking forward to as of right now.

I don't know of there's something ofnthe like in a'lar. But on area 52 i took "meditate", wich is a custom rogue finisher i guess, to compensate for mana issues since you're probably going to waste combo points you generate through ambush anyway :D

On the note of good mmos coming out, I think you were quite right on the dot. Ascension is where I think it is at. My reasoning being the classless system. Every other mmo out there is a wow replicate. They don't really do anything "unique" in my eyes. I've seen so many suggestions about reworking leveling, or adding dynamic quests, dungeons, dynamic mobs with unique skills, etc etc. So many big changes that could be made to mmos but no one wants to really set the stage for it. And I understand that it is a huge time investment into something that may not be anything but so far everything that has attempted to be a "standard" mmo has seemingly died off. At one point, I honestly thought Genshin was gonna be it. It was first touted as an mmo, and people were talking about multiplayer, raids and dungeons like usual, but the whole swapping characters was so fresh to an mmo approach and the rumor of character combos on top of that was pretty sweet to think about. But ofc, it never happened and its just another gacha game. So here I am sitting on Ascension, the most unique mmo I know of. Speaking of which, something you might want to consider is Revelation WoW. Perhaps a content review? They are coming out soon, basically a wow private server but with custom zones and stuff. That's all I know about it. I'll probably check it out myself as well. Oh and Happy birthday!

I think a good idea for fixing the skill card system would be letting you dump skillcards into a spec for abilites you dont want to see, or some variation of that

maybe you can put explo trap down when aoeing with your shadowstep and then do some ambushes and if you are ranged explo shot i dont know but was my first idea for stay at the theme of this build and raise a bit aoe dmg

I will be playing HR only when PVP power and resilience go bye bye. This artificially increase gap between players like more stamina and other stats wasn't enough. I would be ok if pvp items got stuff like resilience of specific type like fire, frost to be able to adjust build to counter meta when needed. Or cc reductions or movement speed.

blackblade of shahram is 1% droprate not proc chance and on ascension paired with sword spec windfury etc it actually becomes insanely powerful when you manage to get the swords stat proc that stacks 5 times upto 250 all stats (that means 250 str 250 agi 250 stam on a dps) highly insane weapon on ascension and superrrrrr under appreciated all around ----- PS it is strictly a rng proc weapon on general terms that CAN be bis if you get great proc rates but it has 4 other procs aswell so it is unreliable but a great weapon to goto rng town with

@mcdoubles Rapid Fire is an absolute must, because you pop it right after Forbidden teq ends and you get more dagger procs. On that note, that build never will do decent AOE damage, even if you roll Volley (Which isn't worth it imo.).

@@Mcdoubles Yeah, that's kind of why I dropped the build lol, so many rares you need and it's just depressing when you don't get the 1 or 2 abilities you need to round it out. (Epics too for that matter.) Also, you only need a dagger in the main hand, try to get a high base damage off hand weapon and ambush gets really yummy. I was critting for 8k in roughly the same gear. (I had my full agi set tho.)

I really enjoy the idea that if I farm and do the extra work to get that better gear then I AM stronger than some random who logs in just to do whatever and mess around. I think that's how it should be.. work harder you get stronger. I understand the argument of I just hit max and now I'm getting smoked by geared out players but that's when skill becomes involved and just the grind to become better.

I don't think that makes any sense at all. Skill means nothing because of gear differences 9 times out of 10 if not 9.9 times out of 10, it's that bad. Not only that, but there's no reason it has to be that way in ALL aspects of the game just for the sake of it. PvP should only be about skill and player intelligence, which in this case would be something like making a good build. That's it. Your gear can be powerful and make you strong in PvE, where it makes logical sense to do so and nobody would ever want different. In PvP it makes no sense other than "I want to kill people without skill involved like they're a critter because that's fun for me" well that's just selfish and always has been and I dislike the argument big time.

You're rogue-like focused on single target, of course it'll be hard to compare damage when others are AoE blasting. Not a fair metric to yourself to gauge your effectiveness. I really like the look of the build. Would love to see more of it.

I guess the problem is that the only game where being good at just 1 thing is okay is a game where every player is only good at 1 thing and that 1 thing is often different. Ascension has too many builds that absolutely smash all forms of content that you feel the need to compete with =(

Bloodforged gear is not good enough. Been down that route. The difference is night and day with real PvP gear that takes FOREVER to grind out. It wouldn't be bad if the PvP was balanced so that I could compete during the grind, or ironically, if gear was a nonfactor. Unfortunately, I don't understand how anyone thinks its fun to let other people farm you and have fun at your expense for weeks on end until you can finally fight them toe to toe in an even match.

high risk phasing by ilvl would be neat for max level, instead of getting rolled by people who play the game for a living. Was hoping for some more innovative stuff, making their own dungeons/raids/zones, maybe in CoA they will /shrug

Wouldn't really work. How exactly would it work? Highest available ilvl? Equipped ilvl? Even if all things are considered, an insanely high ilvl weapon will outweigh a ring for example. For trinkets, you can even have a low level trinket for cc removal. I don't see it as a good solution. Gear score would work better, but even then there's the issue of how to judge things. If it's equipped gear you could literally just remove or swap gear and just peace out.

Right click the general chat tab and unlock the window if it isn't already, and then you can drag one of the corners to increase size. Then you can right click the general tab and go to font size and I put mine on 15-16 because I have bad eyes

You need to swap from just warming up to the RE that gives 10% dark from physical.. Your shadow dagger is biggest importance of your build.

this build is meant to be played as a zugzug ambush build. no hunter. on tbc, you can hit up to 5kambush+2kshadowknife on a player

My first idea was that, but I don't want to PvP on Ascension until they do some significant balancing on both build acquisition and build aptitude in combat. I would give a HUGE exception to some balanced High Risk PvP, but they're also adverse to that.

I think the one thing I dislike in any changes with Ascension, is changing Felforged into a event. There were some of us that came to the game specifically for that type of play. I enjoy the game as a whole but I gravitated to Felforged because it’s design was great…

I kinda get your point about making games for "Regular Joes" but WoW has always had *sweats* in every part of the game and there has always been parts of the game for them to be *sweats* in. You remove any type of effort based reward system or grind and People will get bored near instantly. Being able to consistently make a stronger and stronger character is a large part of some Peoples Enjoyment. I don't really find anything in Ascension extremely grindy apart from the RNG rerolls for Cards. But that's what it literally is, an RNG server. If you make it so everyone can just target exactly what they want instantly and it makes the point of an RNG server pretty well... Pointless.

See I've 100% always disagered with the "people will be bored" argument. That's not true. If your game has no substance and 100% requires your players to participate in forced activities and then there aren't enough of those to sustain your playerbase, yeah it will be boring. But if your game is built to just be FUN to play in general, it won't get boring to anyone except for the people that make a literal number crunching job out of it. That's my whole point actually. It's possible to make games fun without forcing players to do boring things to keep them logging in.

I'm with Deri on this one. I for one am a person who needs to constantly see some type of progression goal in front of me to continue being motivated. (Which is why I avoid games like League that basically resets you every game) If you are willing to put in the time you should be rewarded for that, be it PvP or PvE. Maybe you could make the gap smaller between players which high gear and mid gear. But If I play PvP every day for 3+ months I should have an advantage over someone who just came onto the PvP scene on that day. ( and I just started on this server like 4 days ago but have been watching Mcdoubles for like ever.) That's just my 2 cents.
