"Small" by american standard, maybe, but its category is mid-sized.

I think there is a mistake in your video. France's armed forces are integrated into Nato. This means that they have frequent joint exercices and even intervene jointly on foreign theaters as peace-keeping of navigation freedom protection BUT the French armed forces are NOT undern someoneelse's command but rather executing orders from our President Macro and our defense ministry and this includes jointly-agreed missions, tasks, objectives.

a real beauty....but the most important thing is its planes, the Rafale, a real technological threat. 33 planes on deck ^^

“Most of his life is going into maintenance”… Really? Are you joking? Close to 25 years of operations and only 3 refits/ maintenance periods of 1 and a half years (18 months) each, that’s 20 and half years of operations, more availability than any US carrier.

They may need to build two 65k ton carriers (nuclear) instead of just 1 big one, their design should reflect the modern carrier tempo, for example at least 3 cats instead of the two and an airwing of 50-60 minimum. 1 "super" carrier is cool but for the reality of the current and future threats two carriers will do better, thats why the British have two, even Italy have 2, therefore to maintain operational tempo and needs France should also invest in 2.

The Royal Navy have 2 aircraft carriers, both of which don't have even half of the designed aircraft complement thus making them pretty much handicapped. They have to embark 'borrowed' F-35Bs from the US Marine Corps. By the way, one of them always seems to have problems (propulsion, propeller shaft, etc.). The Charles de Gaulle might be small, but her air wing (up to 32 Rafales M & 2 E2D) is very potent in terms of fleet defense, strike capabilities and operation distance!

The US has never defaulted on paying a debt. No other modern nation that has existed since 1787 can make the same claim. And most of the younger nations can’t either.
