Actually a good idea. Having to save each other in different parts of the ship as you keep getting stuck and need to race against the rising water, gets more difficult towards the end as the ship starts to dip, fight for an open spot on a lifeboat, save as many NPCs as you can, fight panicking passengers, and then eventually swim to get onto a boat before you freeze and die.

I remember years ago playing the original Infogrammes "Alone in the Dark" and thought computer graphics couldn't get any better. I've watched it develop from Far Cry to Crysis and beyond...and every time I'm blown away and say "Surely...it can't get any better than this?" I envy the teen's of today. 30 years from now it's fully immersive VR with sensory suit and, er...attachments.

Honestly some of these are not even better than current ps5 titles. And others are just 3d scans. They don’t work in other lighting, like the castle. It grabs all the information, including shadows, to create the texture. That also why it was overcast, so it looks more realistic, but it wouldn’t work with night time lighting. And you can see all the 3d scan artifacts. A lot of games are already better looking than this

@@prodvoid8023 wee gonna see with hellblade 2 or matrix awakens if these kind of graphics can run properly on low end machines 10TFLOPS PS5/XBOXSX RDNA2 imo will be limited, means lower resolution less or no raytracing & only 30fps. To can really enjoy these kind of graphics in good conditions i guess a minimum of 30/40 TFLOPS would be ok with modern architecture for raytracing & effects without use too much power & dlss3/fsr3 to improve framerate in 4k... the time this kind of graphic power become cheap/regular/standart low consumption & low price we need at least 3 years more.

Actually, using nanite plus DLSS, a game with this kind of graphics can run on mid-high to high-end PC. The problem starts when you add particle effects, chaos destruction, fog and multiple NPCs at once. It's the thing they seem to have problems with. Real time structure destruction. The only game I've seen trying to push it is The Finals.

When you add the various living character models to this, the immersion will break because even if you achieve near perfect details on inanimate objects, it will be very hard to get that on living beings.

@@SyncJr yup, also take a look at the "muscles in UE5" video.. when we get AI that can blend animations seemlessly with reactions to the environment, things will move quickly into "very real" territory. (example : nearly all player charachers seem to "float" on uneven terrain because they were hand-animated on a flat surface, things like that are getting fixed these days with procedural animation, also, with realtime lighting correct on animated characters, they will feel much more grounded than now.)

Imagine a horror game where you’re in the matrix but as a normal person. You’re not neo, you’re nobody. You can enjoy the scenery and explore the map a bit. But when you start the challenge People everywhere around you. Start changing into Mr. Smith. Like you’re in any of these maze like locations. A museum, an abandoned building, a castle, an IKEA STORE (SCP - 3008) And you have to run in between all these faceless men in suits. Survive as long as possible. And the AI can only be on insane difficulty. Like you have to always be sprinting or they are on top of you in seconds. You could even incorporate parkour mechanics as your core gameplay And if you can program the AI to sense when the player has two (or multiple) routes in front of him Then simultaneously cut off each path with AI. Just Smith popping up every time there’s multiple paths With diminishing response time needed to reroute. Like the longer you survive, the AI gives half a second to respond by shooting a hand out the wall to grab your neck. I think that’d be one hell of a jump scare I don’t know, I feel like I’d be damn immersed.

in 2000 i watched Titanic as a kid and my first game on PC was Rainbow Six Rogue Spear. Since then i wish a fully explored Titanic ship on PC, since RS Rogue Spear had a Oil Tanker and a 747 and i always wished a Titanic with rooms and so on.
