It's the fourth F that is finally starting to be recognized as a fear response: Fight: Sometimes verbally, sometimes physically, sometimes legally, sometimes spiritually, etc. Like a dog or bear when you invade its territory. Flight: Running away, denying what's happening, etc. Like a bird or rabbit when you get close. Freeze: Don't move. Don't do anything. Like a deer in the headlights, or when you get near an opossum. Fawn: Give gifts. Say nice things. Use your influence to get someone a promotion. Vote for them. Give them discounts. Don't charge them (financially or legally). Give them what you think they want so they don't hurt you, or don't hurt you as badly, or as often. Humans and dolphins.

Because as a woman who has lived with the daily stress most women go thru, we CAN understand. We DO think about it BRIEFLY, but we would NEVER act or plan it. That’s the difference. Understanding is so different than excusing… I can empathize with Jessica feeling psychotic while still condemning her for being so weak and giving into those dark and painful impulses. You can be friends with your shadow without giving in and a lot of these murderers aren’t friends with their shadows. Their darkness takes over because they never give that shadow time to breathe, and then that becomes them… scary to think we’re all capable of this but most of us let it out in small ways so we would never let this become us. I think that’s why most of us like to see them as “evil” when the reality is we are all capable. RIP those poor poor babies Lacey, Phillip and Christopher. Hope Jessica gets the death penalty and stops wasting our taxes.

I honestly believe she’s dissociated the actual killing part because it’s incredibly emotional, especially if she has BPD. I have BPD and dissociate on a daily basis. A lot of times I will remember in detail what happens leading up to a extremely emotional moment but the actual moment itself is wiped. BPD comes with extreme emotions and is very different from ASPD where you lack empathy. Killing your kids is highly emotional for someone with BPD, whether she did it out of anger, sadness, jealously etc. I even dissociate away happy moments. Everytime I experience an emotion too much it shuts off. It sucks. But like I said, I can remember everything up to it. What doesn’t make sense is the fact that she claims to not recall writing a letter which was way ahead of the actual killings, but then she remembers things between the letter and killings. If she were dissociating the entire time she would not remember any of it, but she does, which makes me believe she remembered the letter and knew she was going to do it, but her brain blocked out the graphic parts. Idk if that makes any sense 😅

The system is built and designed to make sure the kids stay with the women. Whether they are crazy or not. Doesn't matter. If you have male genitalia then you are up the creek when it comes to your kids if you ever want to separate. Unless you can prove 100% without a doubt in multiple ways that she is unfit. It takes a lot for a man to win the children unfortunately. I have known crackheads that don't work that get to keep the kids over the working father who is drug-free. That is the system that is America right now

She chased her around the neighborhood with an axe when she was five for not laying the table correctly, and a neighbor hid her under the dinner table until her dad got home. I can remember the 4am phone calls she got every morning with her mom screaming every obscenity at the top of her lungs to her. It took my mom a long time to learn how to say no, but when she did she never went back. She didn't want kids for the same reason you have, but she didn't have a choice in having me. She still broke the cycle. So don't be too hard on yourself ok? Kids are resilient and I wouldn't replace my mom for anyone. (Great name btw)

I completely agree with your viewpoint. It is unfair to generalize an entire group based on the actions of one person. It is valid to assert that having BPD doesn't make someone a murderer, just as being diabetic doesn't make someone prone to violence. Mental health conditions should not be stigmatized or used to justify harmful actions. Additionally, it is important to note that the individual responsible for the tragedy may have exhibited psychopathic or antisocial traits alongside their BPD, further highlighting the complexity of mental health.

Well unfortunately 74 percent of people with BPD commit acts of violence, usually towards family members. So you might not like that stereotype, but it exists for a reason. Meet my mom, who delighted in torturing me as a child. Also, it isn't just violence, there's mental and emotional abuse that family members of BPD have to deal with. I'm glad you don't physically hurt your children, but that doesn't discount the reality of what's happening with the general population of people with BPD.

I think what a lot of people are missing is the fact that there was premeditation involved. it doesn’t matter if she wasn’t in her “right mind”, she straight up wrote a letter saying what she was going to do. not to mention that just because someone is suffering with a mental illness, doesn’t mean their actions are okay, they too should take responsibility. And on top of that, if we take away the tone policing, she only cries when she notices someone watching, she has no clear signs of empathy whatsoever or remorse, not verbally or through body language. she legitimately doesn’t care, she explicitly states she knew why she did it and back tracks when coming to remembering? it doesn’t add up at all. she is just really good at manipulating people.

@xxnightxx366910 ай бұрын
This is exactly what type of killing it is. She was angry he was not going to babysit the children and she’d have a night out with her friends, drinking. In her mind, she thought, “ oh yeah, you son of a bitch, you don’t want to come and watch your kids, you just wait and see, because you’re not gonna have any kids to watch ever again!” It is likely he was an SOB, and he probably did her a favor when he decided not to continue the relationship. A lot of men impregnate women, make babies and leave them to their mother to primarily take care of them. In the meantime, he is able to go out and about, and conduct his life as if he is single. Unfortunately, too many women handover their identity and require their boyfriend’s or husband’s validation even to exist. The issue I take with her is, women are more knowledgeable today than ever about single motherhood and turbulent relationships. The rising number of how many women are left to raise children on their own, and what the success and divorce rates are of couples today is common knowledge. This is why when you already have two children and you are starting a new relationship, it does not require you to get pregnant anytime soon, because you haven’t had even enough time to see if you two will last, never mind add an innocent newborn infant into the equation. There are higher rates of violent crimes among every day people than there is among people with mental health issues. To believe one must be crazy to commit a heinous crime, involving multiple victims is not indicative of a mental health defect. To wrap it up, lol. I belong to the school of thought which believes she was completely sane during the violent attack on her children. The women who turn on their children to get back at a spouse is more common than we think. Revenge is as old as time. She is an absolute liar, claiming she doesn’t remember the individual attacks on her children, but able to remember the facts that bolster her innocence, and she is completely void when it comes to her actions which will put her away in prison for the rest of her life. She is your typical, garden-variety, and poor excuse of a mother, who believes she is entitled to a better life, and the life she was leading was full of responsibility, she believes, he was supposed to have more responsibility for. She is far from the first woman to find out how difficult, stressful and a lot of times, lonely life is when you are the primary parent responsible for the lives of the children, you brought into this world. Like most of us know, it takes little to nothing to become a mother, but it takes a patient, loving, unselfish and responsible woman to be your Mom. RIP precious 👼👼👼…

I have BPD and at first I was like wow here we go again, let's stigmatize BPD even more. BUT I do agree given the situation that he wanted to leave her and BPD stems from a DEEPLY (deeper than anyone who does not have BPD could ever understand) fear of abandonment. I personally could never hurt a child but I wasn't in her situation. Definitely in no way is that justifiable nor a reflection of everyone with BPD because there's a spectrum to most disorders. But, when you love your "person" that love is also deeper than most people without BPD could understand. We feel things so intensely that the idea of that person leaving can make you do some crazy things. Taking the lives of children is more than just crazy but it does make sense with the disorder, at least in a very extreme case. If she doesn't truly remember it though and had a 5 month old baby, she could have been experiencing post mortem depression with psychosis on top of BPD and that would somewhat explain the severity. I paused before the part about her c section. It's clear she was definitely dealing with a lot. But only she knows what was going through her head. Undiagnosed BPD can be extremely manipulative and have very similar traits to narcissists. Unfortunately we don't respond to psych meds well, the right therapy helps. The creator or narrator of this video does a pretty good job of explaining BPD. The take away though is people with BPD love hard, really hard and not all of us are capable of taking a life. We are FAR more likely to take our own. Over 50% at least attempt su*cide, actually closer to 70%. You cannot imagine the depth of hate we have for ourselves unless you have it, same with depression. This is still one of the most misunderstood disorders and often has co morbid conditions. I also have clinical depression, generalized anxiety and complex PTSD. I'm currently being examined for autism & or adhd. So, it's very complex. Woof, that note ... Well friends that's premeditation and proof she knew EXACTLY what she did. Truly chilling & heartbreaking. Those poor children. If any of their loved ones read this, I am so sorry. I hope you are able to find peace sooner rather than later. I can say with a fair certainty that Jessica purposefully murdered those kids and intended to end her life and make Christopher pay and feel remorse by witnessing her dying, or at least attempting to die while he was there. She wanted to hurt him completely and even told him he destroyed their family. The letter tells it all and doesn't indicate that she had an "episode.' She knew what she was doing and it was completely premeditated. Granted, she may have had Borderline Personality Disorder, but the decision to kill her kids was something I guarantee she remembers, no matter how much she wants to fool everyone into thinking she's blocking it out. Her letter is snarky by saying "I hope you'll be happy in your new relationship with Brandy' and wanted to make sure he knew it was his relationship with Brandy that sealed their coffins. There's no doubt in my mind she wanted Chris to pay. The only thing that backfired for her was that she was hoping she'd have the courage to take her own life as well, but ultimately, she failed. The police used nonlethal weaponry to subdue her. She only cut herself just enough to drip blood all over the house and to elicit some sort of horror from Chris when he saw it was all over the floor (most likely her own blood judging by the traveling drips) Lacey had no stab wounds, and the means of killing the kids was primarily ligature and strangulation. Jessica probably walked all over the house deliberately dripping everywhere just to make the house look horrifying. Her mother had already offered to take the kids for the night, so she can't even use the excuse that the kids would still be alive if he'd wanted to watch all 3. At that point, she already had it in her head that she was going to kill her kids and take them with her, then end her own life, but not before her husband came home, looked her in the eyes and realized he actually had destroyed the entire family (as she described in her letter). This was a murder suicide gone wrong. But since she wasn't able to kill herself, she realized she was now stuck with the prospect of having to live without her kids anyway, and she was STILL going to lose Chris. At that point, she just melted into a pity party of denial and decided she'd play the "I can't remember any of it' card.

As someone who works clerical in the medical field, I cannot imagine someone's c-section wound opening up and the hospital just being like "Your doctor is not here. There's nothing we can do." Even if her doctor was gone and every other doctor in the hospital or clinic suddenly dropped dead, the staff would have insured that she got treatment even if it meant calling an ambulance to take her to another hospital.

I might buy that this was some kind of psychotic break that she couldn't remember IF her boyfriend wasn't in the middle of trying to break up with her. Considering the first thing she did was call the boyfriend and send pics of the crime scene, I'm much more inclined to believe she was trying to hurt him.. I'll go ahead and say it Jessica, considering you think no one else will, you're a bad mother. Edit: I just heard what she said about her ex husband and how he should feel guilty for not seeing the kids. I was originally wondering why she would kill the other 2 children if she was trying to hurt the boyfriend, but obviously she was trying to hurt BOTH men. She knew exactly what she was doing and is an absolute monster.

I have serious doubts that this is postpartum psychosis, but even if it were, she's a monster through and through. She did this to get back at her boyfriend, bottom line. Andrea Yeates, who absolutely had postpartum psychosis, has been in prison for I don't know how many decades. When they wanted to release her she refused. She understands the horrific nature of what she did to her children. Her, I actually have some empathy for. This lady, "I don't know what happened to the children. I don't know if I did it." Bullshit. She planned it because her man was about to leave her.

This was definitely not ppp. Ppp killings don't happen for revenge, women who kill their kids bc of ppp generally don't realize they're doing it and it's always based on delusions. Like they believe something like their baby is actually a demon imposter and killing "it" is the only way to save their baby. They often snap out of it later, usually in a hospital bc they hurt themselves too, and start asking where their child/ren are not realizing she killed them. It's truly a horrific thing. These women genuinely love their babies and would normally never even think about hurting them and often have delusions that lead them to believe that they're actually helping their child/ren, not killing or hurting them. A revenge killing isn't done bc of delusions, unless the reason for needing revenge is a delusion itself. Ppp is too often used as an excuse where it's not actually the case.
@BriEMcN10 ай бұрын
It pisses me off how many women try to use ppp as a defense where it clearly wasn't the case, bc it makes real cases of ppp seem like any old type of murder and makes it harder for those women to fight their cases properly

My mother was diagnosed manic depressive, amongst other things - I believe this is what is called bipolar these days, this was in the late80s/early90s. She was terrifying. She could go from sweet-as-pie to wanting to slit your throat because you breathed the wrong way in her presence. Sometimes it was physical, sometimes sexual, sometimes just verbal humiliation, devaluation. There was no way to calm her, you just had to try to survive until it blew over and she'd act like nothing had ever happened and why was I causing problems for everyone by bringing it up. Lots of times I think she came close to killings us both. I understand deeply the terror these kids went through and it's highly likely this was not the first time they felt endangered by her. Edited to ad: to the people trying to re-explain my experiences or tell me I'm giving her the wrong diagnosis or tell me 'not all bipolar people," these are MY experiences and this is what my mother's DOCTORS DIAGNOSED HER with and of course 'not all bipolar people,' - I never said it was all of you, in the same way talking about one man who was abusive isn't indicative of all men.

This is so sad and horrifying... I have gone through three live births, and had PPD all 3 times, but honestly, there is an EXTREME FEAR of having your kids taken that stops many of us from speaking up about how severe our depression and psychosis has gotten. Much sooner than give real counseling, you'll have CPS on your doorstep, which is a terrifying thing, regardless. But we also need to be able to recognize when our depression and mental illness has gotten so bad that we might NEED those interventions to help us regain reality...My third child was diagnosed with Spina Bifida at 24 weeks, and we had fetal surgery at 25 to save as much of hos lower limb function and it's the greatest achievement of my life, to lay my body down for his in that way... But it meant an 8 inch, hip to hip incision, where he was tucked back inside to continue growing as I essentially recovered from a Csection while still carrying him, and he was delivered at 37 weeks, by reopening 4 inches of that incision... I had my tubes tied on the table so I would hopefully never have to go through another csection, but the recovery from those back to back surgeries was so much harder than I expected, plus I was learning to care for a newborn with a physical disability, navigating the world of being a medical parent, with a toddler, and a school aged child in tow... When my son was 13 months old, his care team discovered he had severe anemia, which turned out after countless tests, was congenital, diamond blackfan anemia, but in the first few months after we nearly lost him (because his initial presentation of anemia was so severe, and because he still requires monthly transfusions and is facing an upcoming bone marrow transplant), I was struggling seriously with my mental health, mainly out of sheer fear, and still being on the tail end of the physical recovery from the hard pregnancy and birth... and i became abusive towards my husband, and that brought me into the eye of CPS, and honestly, rightly so... We had to rearrange our lives while we were investigated, and my MIL moved in with us. When the investigation concluded, we had monthly meetings with a social worker in our home, and that felt humiliating, but I am grateful for the reality checks that came along with the scrutiny. I'm now in anger management, and I've been able to start delegating my tasks like switching from homeschool (kindergartners in a pandemic! EEK!) to public school, and accepting the help available to me, like the anger management group, and I've connected online with countless other medical moms and moms in unique parenting situations, and it has helped me, and my family a lot. Please don't be ashamed to admit you are depressed, and to get actual help with it. We don't need nights out drinking with friends, we need genuine support, and to see that we aren't the only ones going through hardships, and that those hardships are only temporary. My heart breaks for everyone involved in this, even the mother, because this does not happen in an instant. That situation can happen to even the "best" of us, when we can't get the support we need, and in her case, that was probably psychotherapy and antipsychotics... I pray that these fathers who are missing their babies have been able to recover their lives after having such a huge portion taken from them. GET HELP IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE STRUGGLING, WELL BEFORE YOU REACH THE BREAKING POINT.
