A little shorter than traditional straps but any good Boy Scout knows how to tie a knot. Just carry a little rope. One other complaint that'll come with time is corrosion. Keep them dry keep them lubricated.

Ropes don't ratchet down, though. The amount you can cinch down via hand pulling the rope tight versus ratcheting it, is pretty substantial. A regular rope is fine for just keeping stuff from flying out of your truck bed or trailer.

These look pretty good, but at that price, I’d be afraid of losing them. At only 4 ft long, they’re too short for my usual ratchet strap needs. This same company has a cheaper set of 4 straps, 10 ft long, that I would find more useful. Not as strong, but maybe better value because they have similar features. I could see this heavy duty set working really well in a fixed position. For now I’ll keep my set of red ratchet straps, tangles and everything.

Stainless steel 316 ratchet straps would last you forever to where you should worry about. Not coated steel. Shit will rust out. Stainless is flawless in maintenance
