Having been bullied for my favorite Paper Mario game being Super, I developed a hatred for Thousand Year Door because those people ruined it. I never played it but it was associated with them. I did eventually play it, and while I do like it, it's my second least favorite in the series and that's partially due to its association with toxic fans in my mind. So that ending bit you did, thats how I feel.
