Single dad here raising my daughter solely on my own. It’s super hard with all the stresses in life. I’m a non college graduate Joe scraping by too and doing the single dad thing now for six years. I never asked for or got assistance from anyone. My daughter has recently turned 18 and is college bound. I am so proud of her and love her so much. I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. Male genders are increasingly blurred in our post-modern era. Covid has been hard for everyone but for single parents it's been really devastating. I really feel for people that are facing eviction and are truly suffering. Unfortunately, there are those who are being sneaky, still getting paid and haven't paid rent for a year. Those are the ones who ruin it for the truly needy. Also, a lot of landlords are suffering too.who cares about the big corp apartments, I'm worried for the landlords who bought their place on their own and don't have a lot of money. They depend on the renters to help pay the bills/maintenance. It costs a lot to own a property.
@brendajohnson13 жыл бұрын
The first lady says she applied for unemployment in April, which finally arrived in June. Well, on top of her actual unemployment, there was the DUA assistance, which at that time was an additional $600 per week, thru July. And since then, it's been lowered to $400, and now it's $300 additional. So, based on these numbers, she was probably getting more in unemployment, than her actual salary, and she could pay her rent. I just hope she's not taking advantage of the eviction moratorium, because landlords are also suffering, because people are using it as an excuse. If people can pay rent, and they aren't, they're hurting others, who still have mortgages, and many landlords rely on the rent to meet their own personal obligations. That isn't right either, it goes both ways. If you can pay, pay... because it always comes back.

the moratorium is for the foreclosure as well as evictions and it is not the people fault that they can't pay it is the fault of Covid and Covid should pay for it. @thekingtroll22 жыл бұрын
Why does any tenant think a landlord should not evict them. The landlord needs his rent money. If they are not paying, how in the world can they justify staying in a rental unit with no income. They CAN make plans. They can move in with friends, or family. They try to portray the landlords as the bad guys. PLUS, look at all these "single mothers" out there. Where are the fathers of those children. Are they paying child support? You get a rental house and hope for a good tenant. If they don't pay, carrying a sign saying "homes are a human right" doesn't do a thing for me. They are trying to create a right they have for living in your property without paying. They have kids they can't afford and none of them have any savings. Poor planning from start to finish. And of course, none of them want to move to an area where rents are cheaper. They are all entitled and you just have to evict them. They aren't worried MORE about paying rent then I have no qualms about setting them out on the street. That's another example. You throw them out with a sheriff. Do they camp on the lawn homeless? No, they go somewhere else to live. Something they should have done when they could not pay the rent.

just wait until landlords send the evicted tenants to collections. collection agencies can garnish wages and if you haven't been paying rent since April of last year that's 11 months of overdue rent probably well into 20K or more in some parts of California. So even if the person that got laid off does get a job; they'll be getting 30%-40% of their check garnished from them by a collections agency so I doubt the person will be able to afford a new place to stay. This is why people NEED to stop moving to large cities. For the love of god! please stop paying places like California billions of dollars in taxes because they'll just keep fucking people over like this. The state knows that this will all explode once the moratorium is lifted and eviction notices start flying and they aren't doing anything about it. She was working and paid her rent on time, she took care of all of her responsibilities but they will blame her for not having an emergency fund, etc. They will constantly find a way to blame someone like her. Life is not easy for everyone, she worked and took care of her kids, maybe she did have a fund saved up but she did not have a very lucrative job, she probably did not have much left over to save. So, she will get bashed all day long for that, despite going to work, taking care of her kids and paying her bills on time. It looks like she is not getting child support, she is doing it on her own. Maybe the father passed away, we don't know the facts of her past so you cannot judge her. Any extra money she had probably went to her kids for things for school, food, doctor visits, who knows. So many people in some countries hate social welfare systems but in times like these many places should rethink their approach to having a citizen safety net, Public moneys are paid by the public & usually the people speaking loudest against welfare are the ones who will never need it. Its not hard to have compassion.
@karlashdown52283 жыл бұрын
@jj rinioReally Why Not ? Are Americans that selfish its their money its Tax money people forget that without a want for this or anything to happen & excuses as to why it cant change nothing will happen, a Tax strike State & Nation wide would be one possible protest action to take but its only when you have lived with poverty that you can understand it. I'm sorry it's so hard to even fathom for some & of course i will be called commie SJW etc.. i don't care there are real people trying to work out real problems & nobody cares. Corporations have so much power in America because of government backing. Industry brought government years ago your system even encourages lobbying which is just legal corruption pure & simple. They say America has the loudest voice worldwide USE IT.
@karlashdown52283 жыл бұрын
@jj rinio I know Americans are a very proud people & i am not wanting to offend anyone but honestly people will force change if they really want it to happen but it's the "well its not happening to me" type of thinking has gotten to be commonplace instead of compassion people turn to insults, I really don't mean any offence.
@karlashdown52283 жыл бұрын
@jj rinio I see that & it makes me wonder how people have let it happen but then i think it was happening long before i came into being (am almost 50) & it can seem to big for anything to cause any change protest isn't always the best option & people have to want change i guess consumer fulfillment beats change hands down, Take care JJ be safe.

This is heart breaking for sure. I don’t want to see anyone homeless, especially kids. Someone has to pay for the house though or that bank will take it from the owner. No one wins.

"I can't just go out there and get another job. I can't work the front lines, because what if I get sick?" . Yet, the majority of us are working... my elderly father is still working throughout the pandemic, because there is no relief for homeowners... i can't take this reporting seriously.

They never asked what these people did with the stimulus money we all received. I'm betting they never gave a dime of it in rent

Humans aren't angels. We are great apes, animals that got out of control and started destroying the Earth and other animals. And now we're turned on each other. When we go extinct, it will be our own doing

The unemployment would have back dated to the day she was laid off...she would have also received stimulus checks for her self and kids. Also would receive free food cards and free health care..She should have used the money to pay rent.
@fertilityqueen78803 жыл бұрын
*she can* but that would be stupid on her part because she's not very responsible one month of no income will probably put her ass out again. so she should not be paying back rent owed she should just get evicted and get her f****** mobile home that's affordable.

Same thing happened with my aunt. She’s a single mom of 3. She has no job and her apartment landowner gave her eviction notices! Rent control is also needed

I hope these people receive some assistance. It must be really difficult to raise a child or children all alone, working and taking care of each of them. It’s really unfortunate to hear that the situation is worsened under COVID. I hope the best for all the single parents out there.

Father God I ask that you please help not only these families, but all of the other families as well, that are facing eviction. I ask father God that you will give these families a miracle, allow their debts to be paid in full, and allow them to receive the jobs and or funding needed to keep their homes. I ask you father God to please heal all of those who are sick in this time. I ask you Lord in Jesus name. AMEN 🙌
