I backed into this yesterday...kinda spot on. "The brain-disease model overlooks four fundamental truths: (1) our capacity to destroy one another is matched by our capacity to heal one another. Restoring relationships and community is central to restoring well-being; (2) language gives us the power to change ourselves and others by communicating our experiences, helping us to define what we know, and finding a common sense of meaning; (3) we have the ability to regulate our own physiology, including some of the so-called involuntary functions of the body and brain, through such basic activities as breathing, moving, and touching; and (4) we can change social conditions to create environments in which children and adults can feel safe and where they can thrive. When we ignore these quintessential dimensions of humanity, we deprive people of ways to heal from trauma and restore their autonomy. Being a patient, rather than a participant in one’s healing process, separates suffering people from their community and alienates them from an inner sense of self." ~Bessel A. van der Kolk

This wasn't a 17 year old that committed this crime. This was a serial sexual predator. They should check recent (as of the time of the crime) sex offender parolees who lived or worked nearby and look into genetic genealogy/ged match. So sad to see this family broken like this. Could also be a delivery man whose route took him into the neighborhood. A box truck would be a perfect way to conceal a victim. UPS/milkman/ice cream truck could all be explored. One more avenue is something called the Vidocq Society. It's a club of sorts of volunteer detectives that meet monthly in Philadelphia to try and solve unsolved homicides. Although, I can't stress enough, GEDMatch, GEDMatch, GEDMatch.

I remember when this happened, the daughter wasn't convincing in news interviews. Something was very off about her " overreactions". He seemed convincing until I heard she was trying to get a divorce and he was a hustler. Sad.

Wow. The second story was completely nuts.

as usual the cops completely dropped the ball.. even when the cops do their job or more often accidentally catch someone because someone told on them the courts still fail us and just let them plea to nothing and they are on probation or out on parole in a few short years

What kind of boyfriend walks his girlfriend home halfway? I feel for Deanna's family

@verylocal I really wish you would cover and investigate a unsolved murder of Deadra Morris from Evansville, Indiana. She was stabbed to death and left in a park here in 1993. She was only 17. She was also pregnant. And it been a cold case every since 1993.

Also, they did try her boyfriend at the time and he was found not guilty. And after that the police just gave up.

What a terrible things have to see, a seventeen-year-old that wants to live a long and happy life and be healthy and some disgusting piece of garbage removes her from the earth within 24 hours. May God send the worst judgment to those pigs. God bless you young lady, and I pray your family has peace. God bless you

Is pan handling very widespread in America? I live in Australia and have never seen it here. Doesn't the state help those who are homeless or down on their luck?
@ClaireNicole333 жыл бұрын
I'm a New Orleans native and it's very common here. No help that I know of. Also I spend time in a couple different areas of Florida at times and it's even worse over there. This country is fukkd. I don't understand why everyone wants to come to America 🤮
@dmreddragon63 жыл бұрын
It is super common. Some are legit in need of help, but others choose to make a living scamming people to give them money. Then there's the huge drug problem here, and mental illnesses to where there is little chance of them coming up from it.
@bdlimea70183 жыл бұрын
It's very common in the US. I live close to Seattle. The panhandling here is unbelievable. The drug epidemic has definitely made it worse. The town I live in has around 70K people and we have panhandlers on every other corner it seems.

The entire Pacific Northwest is like that. Down in northern Ca is the same. Transient zombies wandering around.

@@redwoodtrail Absolutely. California is bad too. When I was growing up I had no clue what panhandling even was! Kids now see it every day

Deanna Cremin's case definitely sounds like Somebody Knows Something and doesn't feel Safe, and/or inclined (i.e., partly guilty) to speak up. I have some knowledge of Somerville: Much of Somerville, definitely including Deanna's and her family and friends' style, is a close-knit, neighborhood based place. Similar to East Boston. (There's also an ambitious-'Yuppie'-looking-for-less-expensive {than Cambridge} facet of Somerville. But she's not part of that.) So, someone's staying quiet. High school talks: Seems like high school rumors...e.g., someone jealous, infatuated with the 'popular girl,' would have lead to useful avenues in 1995, 96, and/or point to the BF... Maybe now her Classmates... Seems like DNA too, unless the police botched the storage, will lead to a clear suspect.

As someone who's lived 33 years in Somerville, "close-knit" is not something I would ever say about the city.
@Wu_Xin27723 жыл бұрын
I don't get it. The first girl was blatantly killed by her boyfriend, or he was at least involved. Obviously the police are incompetent or dragging their feet.

To take advantage of the Homeless community who are already in an incredibly difficult situation & battling issues most will never have to face just to survive day to day is despicable in itself but to then try to turn their city and only source of support against them as well is so selfish & low that it’s beyond words… And Btw homelessness can happen to anyone. Did you Turn your nose up? Well what if that was Jesus you just turned it up on…
