I assume that the war's been going on for ages, because Horse thinks that the only trait of human world is that it's destroyed and it's in war. Or Horse is very young.
@colystumps60102 жыл бұрын
I assume the 'memory' hasn't happened to Horse yet, at this time. I think she's remembering when she met the nowhere king in his own backstory at the end of season 2, and since his backstory happened prior to Horse arriving in centaurworld, she 'remembers' it. That would also explain why the nowhere king seems to recognize her, despite them not actually having met before.

I think it's more specifically wammawink and her herd. She cut them off from the rest of the world. Just think about what happens in the rest of the world. Not to mention Wammawink is a straight up War orphan.

@@bushidotestu1997 (adventure time spoilers) Not to mention at one point the lich duplicates himself into an infinite number of universes, if we accept that this world exists in one of those universes. It could actually be canon that "The Nowhere King" is just what Centaurworld calls the lich, and it wouldn't be the first time he's been trapped/deactivated (consider prismo's pad and that time the lich was stuck in Sweet P's body -- when the lich is physically unable to kill, he becomes inactive). Think about it, they have similar character designs and similar motivations. The lich is also shown to be highly intelligent, being fully aware that mindless killing won't get him to his goals. He schemes, manipulates, strategizes, and uses his powers to his full advantage. It even shows when NK believes he won't escape, that he plans to kill everyone in the void, saying that he'd rather not share the space with them. If there was only a handful of people in a room, and the lich didn't believe they could help him escape, that's exactly what he would do: kill them and go dormant until the next opportunity to accelerate death comes. IIRC it was the lich's influence that led to the mushroom bomb. Whereas GOLB is the manifestation and/or source of ultimate chaos, the lich is its polar opposite. An agent of ultimate entropy. He will not rest until all life that is possible to snuff out, is snuffed out. So the dormant state he goes in when killing is not possible is probably the same state he goes into if he succeeds in his purpose.

@@Beer_Wolf i feel like this is much worse than a song about death. Songs about death are kind of peaceful in the thought that you’ll never feel anything again. On the other hand, “dreamless sleep” on one hand could refer to death, but it could also refer to a literal dreamless sleep, in which you’re floating around in the void of blackness that is the nowhere king, just unable to die and feel nothing. “You will bring joy to the nowhere king when he sees the light leaving your eyes” sounds like emotional torcher. He’ll keep you trapped and slowly you’ll lose all sense of hope, becoming a shell of your former self. You’d be stripped of all the things that make you happy, but never be able to die. That sounds like a fate worse than death. TLDR: death doesn’t scare me, this song does.

I like to imagine the "Quiet, crawl through the in-between, silent, secretive feeling of fearsome, hatred that reaches the skies" is about Elktaur using the key in secret to get rid of his self hatred, aka his animal half, aka the Elk.

I love how they individually animated the flowers dancing. It’s satisfying to watch in my opinion.

I love this lullaby, its a excellent format to send out such a menacing message, similar to pretty much all other lullaby's. They tend to be warnings, or songs of pure sorrow, but their sung so gently and softly they don't seem menacing regardless of the lyrics.

Theory: Based off a mural shown at the end of the last episode of a human and a centaur. Long ago, a Centaur and a human were inseparable friends (or lovers?) But the other Centaurs made a terrible mistake (either on purpose or not) leading to the human dying or getting lost or stuck somewhere. The centaur became furious at the other centaurs and wanted revange but didn't know how. the centaur became friends with another human after years, the purple haired girl we've already seen who reminded him of the human who died/got lost/got trapped somewhere But it reminded him of what the centaurs did and all his hate for them came back, He didn't want the centaurs to take he new human friend. He became a monster. The purple haired girl didn't know why he was so mad, then he told her about what the centaurs did and how he had another human friend years ago. She felt betrayed because of how he didn't tell her. (listen to 0:38! "silent, secretive feeling of fearsome hatred that reaches the skies") He manipulated or controlled the Minotaurs into obeying him, and invaded centaurworld, killing wammawink's previous herd/parents and many more. but he was stopped by the purple haired girl who trapped him in the nowhere world and the minotaurs in the other world as she couldn't let him just destroy everything. The minotaurs had no way to do what he ordered them to do, attack centaurs-as there weren't any in this world. So they attacked humans instead.

I just- words cannot describe how eerie but peaceful this song is. Also it fits perfectly with one of the WoF AU maps I watched. I just wanted to ramble about how good the song is so thanks for reading my ramble :D

This is definitely one of the coolest cartoon villains I've seen in a long time. The song is a banger.

For some strange reason, the song is comforting to me. Much of what it says I can connect to my darkest fears, but when it puts it in a lullaby tone, suddenly it seems okay, like the comfort of someone singing such a soft melody while allowing me to consider and overcome with my fears in a way I am able to cope with in an emotionally stable way.

This show has been underrated so badly😭 And I appreciate that you cut this with the line about "But what comes next may not be what she likes." Truly a beautiful starting of this song

Honestly i kinda don't like the idea of the nowhere king being a more traditional villain. I'd rather he remain this mysterious entity that just instills terror at the mere uttering of his name. And, side note, that entrance still sends chills down my spine, and it especially helps that it's accompanied by the nowhere king lullaby.
@wierdgamer30673 жыл бұрын
Ah yes. The fear of the lack of knowledge. The anticipation of what's beyond the veil of comprehension, what lurks in the darkness. It often strikes fear into the heart much more than the reveal.

I sorta get the feeling Wammawink also heard the words but she's not quite registering it as really happening because of the whole sleep deprivation thing... but she's seen the atrocities of war, just as Horse has, except Horse is only now learning how hellish it really is.

Man, talk about blowing past expectations. I was told this show was decent and to give it a watch. I never expected a villain so well-thought out, but that entrance… whooo boy! Damn.

I can't help but feel that this scene was a homage to the scene in Disney's Alice in Wonderland where all the flowers were singing Golden Afternoon. Some of the flowers are even the same as was in the animation.

I find it interesting that the two groups that sing this song in S1 are the planttaurs(there's so many of them, several have to be survivors from the centaur world war) and the cattaurs (it's explicitly stated the cattaurs are survivors from the war who cope with competition) the two groups who sing this are traumatized survivors of the war trying to give a warning to the herd
