Not a lot of value in longsword right now imo with the dsync being as bad as it is again. Lotta coinflip parrying going on across the game. Super unrewarding to both play and play into. Hopefully Ironmace is pushing for some performance fixing in the background for this nonsense. How're y'all liking multiclassing in dark and darker?

the whole barb+clerics encounter was really funny. the buff-setup & emoting from the lizard, the almost sneaky attempt at a surprise attack with the slow-ass axe, followed by him immediately folding to two hits off of a parry into the tactical retreat with some stellar "yo mama's a hoe & your granny too" taunts.. finished off by a desync death. glorious.

Have you tried weapon mastery barb yet it's pretty fun parrying people on a barb lmao I parried some guy day 1 in normals on ice caves as a barb then killed his friend with Achilles longbow I bet they were pissed lmao

Bro there’s a glitch, if you equip a utility slot item and then immediately sheathe your utility you can skip the weapon swap animation from stowing your windlass. Absolutely broken.

Im honestly curious as ive been trying to get better with my pvp parries. Is it that the second swing on the falchion is easier to parry, or am i just seeing situational parries.

For sure seeing situational parries since I often trade first hit by initiating and then trying to bait out the second attack to parry. That said, I do that solely because the second attack is genuinely easier to parry because of the weapon angles aligning so well in favor of the longsword. So a bit of both I suppose

Complete the weaponsmith quest, then you can get one from squire.

@jj2621 just need to do the first one, the 5 blue weapons I believe it is, to get the longsword to appear. Doing more quests will get your better quality ones. Since you were not aware of this, you should know that doing quests for woodsman, leather, alchemists, and tailor will also get you some gear from them as well to appear in the squire.

@@EnergyVenom Had no idea that was what influenced the squire, i thought it was based on level since coincidentally completing all of those ones got me to 5 10 15 and 20 respectively . thanks man ! i quest all the time cause i’m bad and lose my gear right away, but i thought it just affected the individual merchant attitudes. until now i’ve just been buying like 10 longswords to stash whenever they show up in weaponsmith LMAO. probably why the squire on my rogue has absolutely nothing

I really don't think it was the servers screwing you over at 4:42, that is to say it's not possible for a server to be better than that. The warlock had begun his swing, you then moved in and began your parry animation. Given that the animation must be in the completed state for around 0.2 seconds before parrying is possible, it was never gonna work. There wouldn't be enough time on any server. User error on that one.

Lol. I’ll own any that are actually operator error, but this isn’t one. A game with .2s of Dsync would be horrendous and unplayable in a competitive state. They’ve already improved the Dsync in the game once before to the point it was closer to 3x better than this. I have multiple videos aligning both attacker and defender povs with the match times to show how inconsistent the Dsync often is and how well they improved it back with their performance improvements from Hotfix 31

@@oggieson Well if you say so. But from that clip I can't notice anything out of the ordinary from what I have come to expect from this game. I always think that I have to "live in the future" when it comes to parrys and blocks and it seems like you weren't on that one. But you were there and know what it felt like so I'll trust your judgment.
