This is so true,my Narc ex told me when I divorced her that she hadn’t loved me for the entirety of the 25year marriage, I think she thought it was a surprise to me and she couldn’t work out that was why I left.

My ex narc cheated with some pug ugly dudes. But of course they idolised her. Really makes you realise it was only ever about supply. When i was the new supply i idolised her too, for the woman i thought she was. I told her straight. I didnt fall in love with you. I fell in love with a mask. And the mask is a fictional character. Harsh. But absolutely true.

Totally believe it. Some people hog everything ,hoarding all for themselves including love untill all thats left of you is an empty shell on the floor. They are parasites . Anoushka, what do I do about their enablers who are pretending to be professional ,gives you their private phone number, encourages you to stay in the relationship? I feel "double-teamed".

For me it was somewhat my fault. I was afraid to lose her. I saw all of the red flags, but I decided to ignore them, and also forced to ignore them, trying to keep the status quo. I was trying to keep her in my life, because I completely loved her. I didn’t really recognize that she didn’t really love me. It was just a sadistic way of life for her. I now question if I will be able to trust anyone again, even someone like me who has been abused by a narcissist. Even if I do find someone else, the amount of love I’m willing to give won’t even come close to the amount I was willing to give before. It’s a shame that people break hearts so badly like this, being reckless, while not even being narcissistic. Luckily, for me, I can say with certainty, that I was strong, and I’m still strong! Just because I was afraid to lose her, doesn’t mean that I was weak! I fought for her, and for us. I called out when I saw the red flags, and just because I thought she needed time and support to grow, put me in that position to be a good supporter. So even if I know that I was taken advantage of, the opposite of recognizing just how loving and strong I was for her is extremely relevant as well. I hope that everyone who was the victim of narcissism understands that they are more capable and stronger than anyone else on this planet. People want love, and victims of narcs have proven they can! It is better to have loved, than never to have loved at all. What a blessing this is!

the TRUST is not actually about the other person..it's trusting YOU. Ultimately the narc is just a Narc.. and they show who they are within the very early days of meeting. Lets call it Red Light Green Light. If you hit a red light with the narc and choose to run it at the intersection of life, then yeah, injury is high..and it hurts !!! mostly because it's such a massive self betrayal. we blame them but it's actually us..WE aren't trust worthy to advocate for our own well being . I understand. I ran ALL the red lights and in the end I ended up being run over and backed over by a bus (cheated on, dumped via text and switched out for a whole new relationship with a whole other woman...brutal) the first red light was in a matter of 2 weeks of meeting him (the silent treatment for displeasing him) and I ran that light chasing after him .. and that was literally my choice. If you want to be able to trust..you have to be willing to give people a chance but self advocate in the process (not give allowances to hurtful behaviours).. If someone gives green lights then proceed to the next set if someone gives red lights, don't. The power is in your own hands there to rebuild the trust you lost with yourself by hanging onto someone who was basically a weapon against you.. It's ok to love someone but always love yourself more..

I know what it's like to love. I want to know what it is liked to be loved the same way. I'm afraid so much wasted time and such work needed on myself that I don't think would trust it if it does come 😢 I'm going to continue to work on myself. Hard road

@@robinlee2194 I do think to love ourselves is the solution to this. I believe it’s one of those reverse psychology things that will surprise us. I’m cheering for us that this will happen. We can prevail and trust again. I’m also trying to get it through my head that I’ll be alright on my own. I don’t really have to depend on others that much, even though I still want to. It’s making that choice to be strong for ourselves.

Im sorry but I have to add this as well. Aside from the narcissist, what would make it difficult to value ourselves? It’s still the pressures of society, but that doesn’t mean that we should swing all the way to the other side either. Will need a healthy dose of “ I don’t care what people think”, for us to get back on track and know that we are worth it on our own.

Me too I have encountered two Narkies in my life and one was like a fruit and nut and the other was a complete self entitled can't believe you left me Nark. When she discarded me and told me that she found new supply and he is love of her life, she said to me "I will always love you" ... I said back to her "you never loved me" and she asjed me "you never felt that way" ... and I honestly said "No ... Never ... Even at the beginning". At that time of our farewell, I had no clue about her narcissistic nature. After 1 month, I found explanations and infos and I was shocked. I said to my self ... shi*, this is it.

It was easy to figure out the narcissist ex never loved me. I can accept that easily. His behavior never demonstrated love, therefore he was never lovable. Knowing this made it easy to go nc. He didn’t love me, and I didn’t love him.

It was hard to hear. I realized it about a year ago. Feel hoodwinked cheated out of a relationship. Very disturbing and traumatizing as tho the traumatic abuse is not enough. Hoped to move on w a new person and he suddenly passed away of a heart attack. More trauma. 😩
