I’ve spent most of my still developing career focusing on the nature of time. If anyone would like to begin a correspondence about the topic, please don’t hesitate to reach out. KZbin was originally meant to be a place of meeting and sharing ‘after’ all.

i wonder if the Youniverse is pulling a Benjamin Button: Arrow of Time still flying, but drawn into curvature from an opposite direction (some point in the curve or cycle reached that its effects reach senses of human perception n therefore can shift the reality perceived)…something something iterating on the 2nd law of thermodynamics maybe? total noob here n even to me this sounds like sophistry somehow 🙃

Yip I’m interested in the nature of time. I also have some interesting ideas.

I'm also interested! But how do we do that? Meaning, what are the means of communication

@@Philosophy_Overdose yes, i deleted it, I thought it was getting to detailed. Sometimes I rethink about what I posted and its added value. Thanks for this nice video with all these legends, love to see more of these

this & your video on 'Science & Truth' seem to be from a documentary series, it has the same narrator. Any information on how I can find the rest of these series? I really like them. Thanks.

cultural anthropologist here! the perception, understanding, and social experience of time is different in different cultures across the world. for example, having lived in East Africa for 5 years now “Swahili time” does not correspond Western expectations of time.

Think about particle motion rather than time. If I had a magic dial that could turn off the motion of all atoms turning that dial would act exactly as freezing time that atoms would stop moving everything around me would stop. .So time doesn't actually exist, its just a unit of measurement, its particle motion that exists.

At 14 minutes aproximately, Michael Friedman says that according to Newton space and time are a priori forms, I suppose it is a lapsus linguae because he describes them in a Kantian way, which was totally different from Newton's. That line may confuse some viewers. For Newton space and time were absolute real entities which did not depend on other objects, minds or subjective agents, because they were real and objective things.

This is an invitation to see a theory where light is both a wave and a particle, with a probabilistic ∆×∆pᵪ≥h/4π, future continuously unfolding in relation to the electron probability cloud of atoms and the wavelength of light. In this theory, the wave-particle duality of light and matter (electrons) creates a blank canvas that we (atoms) can interact with forming a future relative to the energy and momentum of our actions. This interaction is represented by a constant of action in space and time, mathematically denoted as the Planck constant h/2π. This concept is supported by the fact that light photon energy ∆E=hf is continuous exchange into the kinetic energy Eₖ=½mv² of matter, in the form of electrons.

Eternalism holds that as God knows both past and future, these both fully exist. Presentism - that only the present exists - is based upon Atheism, which, like Theism, requires its own proofs and arguments.
@Philosophy_Overdose Жыл бұрын
None of that is what eternalism actually holds. Nor does presentism imply atheism.

@@Philosophy_Overdose"Augustine of Hippo wrote that God is outside of time-that time exists only within the created universe. Thomas Aquinas took the same view, and many theologians agree. On this view, God would perceive something like a block universe, while time might appear differently to the finite beings contained within it." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternalism_(philosophy_of_time) Hence, Classical Theism is inextricably tied to Eternalism. How could one be an Atheist and not a Philosophical Presentist? How does the past or future 'exist' in a solely material reality of flux?
