Nuggets in 4 or 5. This is an insane mismatch. Even if Bam and Jimmy have outstanding games, if the Nuggets hit 40% from 3 (and they weren’t close to that game 1)then it won’t matter 🫠…

The one thing I would say is that you don't actually want Jokic aggressively looking to score, because if that is happening it's because everything else is not working out. His game is about setting his team up for success, that is why he said he is not making a decision to score or pass, the decision is what is the best play he can execute at the moment. As a long time Spurs fan, watching this Nuggets team is amazing and they play beautiful basketball.

This Denver team reminds me of the Spurs old dynasty. They are well coached and having a unselfish superstar is key to success and good for player morale. Denver defense isn't like old Spurs and neither is their offense the same. But the intangibles definitely same like the lockeroom transformed into a Championship atmosphere. Also, Murry is amazing. He really is the best shooter shooting a contested shot. Bruce Brown was a great pickup. Aaron Gordan is versatile and energetic defender. MPJ has matured and game is still developing and as long as he stays healthy and works hard, he has potential to be Allstars. Can't believe Cavs let KLOVE GO to a playoff team. Kevin Love would have been great as a backup to Joker. He definitely has the full court pass down like Joker.

He is literally 6 years younger than Curry and 12 years younger than LeBro. That's how everything works, younger players overtake older, or in LeBron's case ancient, players. This year Wade, a guy that was drafted the same year as LeBron, is going to be inducted into the HOF. Let that sink in.

Was it something like 6 assists in the quarter before he even took a shot? Then he finished with 28 points. Everything was just working for them without needing to force a single shot because the mismatches were already exposed and, just like Jokic says, it's about taking what the game gives you. That is absolutely not just someone being humble in an interview, it's Denver playing simple team basketball. It's also great to watch.

Team basketball versus hero ball. Jokic does whatever is optimal to help his team win without regard for what his own statline looks like. No ego, all business. And that is what makes Jokic slip under the radar for so many people - he isn't flashy, he doesn't talk himself up, he stays out of the limelight, and just gets on with it. In an NBA that is all about showmanship and social media engagement, Jokic is an anomaly.

What blows my mind is how Jokic barely ever celebrates or makes any facial expression when he makes an amazing play. Dude acts like Kawhi on the court. Not his play style, just his demeanor. This was slaughter in the first half! I think this season Nuggets are untouchable for two reasons: attitude and team spirit on the court. As games are getting more serious they are more focused. One could argue that when they are too comfortable they relax, but that confirms they are not robots. Nevertheless, they are well oiled machine. Monster from the Rocky mountains and the company will be champions. Maybe in six or seven games, maybe sooner. Heat can perhaps make a couple of outstanding performances, but that will be all.

I’ve been a Nuggets fan since Spencer Haywood days. But even I bandwagoned with the Warriors for several (Brian Shaw) years because Denver was bad and I appreciated the good basketball being played by Golden State after they got rid of Jackson. The same way I rooted for San Antonio for several seasons because they played great basketball. This Denver team plays great basketball and has a chance for multiple rings. it's crazy to see the NBA changing before our eyes again. we've had this huge Euro league player running the offense and being the most dominant force in basketball for the last three years and attentive coaches are trying to figure it out. i think we can expect the league to shift to a more adaptable game in the future and lots of Euro players will be entering the league. over the next 5 to 10 years talent will become less controlling of a factor and a team style of ball that emphasizes incredible passing and floor general skills will come to dominate the league

It's actually the same thing that made so many analysts sleep on Steph Curry for so long. They have been propping up this narrative about "stars" and what a star is for so long, they are well and truly surprised that teams win basketballs games. And therefore you can be "great" by by being a TEAM PLAYER. The problem with Jokic isn't that he's not an all-time talent. The numbers speak for themselves. The problem with him is that he's not a selfish, me-first diva, who thinks that gaudy point totals are the point of the game. And well, that's UN-AMERICAN.

Still in Disbelief! I've lived in Denver all my life to this point and have always been a huge fan. Like many Boston Red Soxs fans In the late 90's to early 2000's I NEVER thought I would live to see the Nuggets in the Finals like the Red Soxs coming back from the Yankees! The Lakers were always the team that stopped the Nuggets from advancing to the finals for YEARS (MAD RESPECT TO KOBE) but when we got A.I. (the Answer) with Carmelo Anthony and Kenyon Martin, Marcus Camby leading the league in block shots at the time and the great coach in George Karl I thought that would be the team to take it all. Mark Cuban calling us the "Thuggest" due to the aggressive gameplay they really did look unstoppable. No disrespect to Anthony but he was never known for his defense and he loved to stop the run and gun pace and man up more than he should have. Seeing Jokic and Murray is something that many Nuggets fans never thought they would see, regardless if they say they did but based on the Nuggets teams from the past no one saw this coming. We were seeing a build up to this, but had been let down before, so this is something new to us Denver Fans this Post Season and it's AWESOME! This team is deep and it's size is going to be hard to handle. It's only one win at the time of writing this, but It's going to be a uphill climb to Mount "Everest" for Miami to pull this one off. Do they have enough left in the tank, I don't know?

Jokic could be at the forefront of the big man resurgence in the NBA. Not because he's so great of a player, but because similar to Shaq you have to construct your roster in a manner that's capable of competing with him. Centers like Bam and RWIII/Horford aren't big enough to guard him effectively, you can't double him because that's a lose/lose situation. The last time Jokic was truly defeated was against a roster with Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, and Anthony Davis (honorable mention, Marc Gasol). You'll need bodies for fouls and a bruiser big enough to make him work for his points/assists, he does everything so easily he doesn't get tired often, gotta wear him down because he's not gonna make bad decisions on his own.

Every NBA player was a star in HS and/or college. That means that every one of them can score when they are open. Even the 15th player on the worst team can score when open. Denver and Jokic are masters at hitting the open man.

I think its the mindset of trying to be "the man", the alpha on the team, that doesn't necessarily work for some teams, that just forces these players into a box. Jokic being selfless, humble to a fault, that just does everything the team needs, is what made everyone around him to do the same. To contribute in ways that doesn't show on the regular stats.

If you take the shots the game gives you, it may not lead to league scoring titles but it's much better for your team and their win percentage... Ex: Jockic style... If you hog the ball, lack faith in your teammates, think about yourself first and force unopen shots your personal ppg will go up slightly but it's detrimental to your teams success and will negatively affect your teams win percentage... Ex: Embiid style...

Fluidity. Not having predefined plans leaves you open to reacting organically to what they're throwing at you, than being confined, restrained, and hindered by detailed specificity of methods. A plan is fine, but leave it as broad and vague as possible. This leaves a lot of room for creativity and the spirit of the game to take over through intuition and synergy

As a Laker fan. I want Denver to win. And I think they will. The Lakers came alive. And wanted it at the end. They played through injuries and kept coming back in every game. Any other team would have lost to the Lakers. But not the Nuggets. There are ways to lose. The nuggets really earned that sweep. Don't let the sweep make you believe the Lakers and Nuggets had a war. The nuggets were just that good.
@garyaugustus690

As quiet as it's kept, and to no fault from the fawning Clutch Sports-bought national media, the Lakers weren't as good as we were led to believe. They only improved from a dysfunctional, underachieving star-centric team fighting to surpass .500 ball, to a retooled hopeful able to finally achieve that average status after a year and a few months...everything else was hopeful hype. They're not getting any better than what they showed us after the February trade deadline, so next year we should expect more of the same. Reaves, Rui, and Vanderbilt proved to be the bright lights in a dark room, but any wattage can improve abject darkness. These youngsters are career journeymen waiting to happen... trade fodder at best, and if the Lakers are resting any championship hopes on these three, then it's back to being the laughingstock of the league once again. NOTE: After being touted as an elite defensive stopper since the trade, Vanderbilt couldn't even get into the last game of the season...DNP.

@@garyaugustus690 I think they improved a lot and have the basis to not be a surprise anymore. Media said they'd be champs. That was a clear exaggeration. Looking back at how they begun and how little time they had after the all star break to work with their new trades. They did excellent.
