Went to the Keswick last night to see these guys ……. Prog Rock is NOT dead ………… these guys are a combination of early Genesis (w/ Peter Gabriel), Kansas, /STYX, Dream Theater and a little ELP. Go see them if you get the chance; amazing musicianship and vocals !!!

I think this song is a perfect example of how to share vocal parts. Bill Hubauer really delivers the quirky "cardboard people" part. Reminds me of "the ways of a fool" which may be his best vocal performance. Neal Morse singing the verses is amazing regarding his range and the emotion conveyed there. Eric Gilette probably has the best voice for the chorus regarding his range and him having a very full and young sounding voice. I tried switching up the parts in my head and none of it sounded as amazing as this version.

A pentacle (also spelled and pronounced as pantacle in Thelema, following Aleister Crowley, though that spelling ultimately derived from Eliphas Levi)[1] is a talisman that is used in magical evocation, and is usually made of parchment, paper, or metal (although it can be of other materials), upon which a magical design is drawn. Protective symbols may also be included (sometimes on the reverse), a common one being the six-point form of the Seal of Solomon. Pentacles may be pieces of parchment or cloth that are sewn to the chest of one's garment, or they may be flat objects that hang down from one's neck in front of one's torso, or they may be flat objects that are placed flat upon the ground or upon an altar. Pentacles are almost always shaped as disks or flat circles. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentacle

The worldly follow hollow pursuits of fashion and celebrities to fill something missing in their soul. Nothing ever will make us content without knowing why we chase the gods of this world that fade, die or rust away. Neil Morse understands and that and is why he has a deep down joy in is singing songs of the bigger picture in his life. He knows this life is only temporal so he is looking forward to what is more than just the “stuff” of vanity and what really matters after we die.

cool music from talented musicians but the lyrics... oh that tiring preachy tone, that me (how cool and decent I am) versus the other (they are so corrupt and greedy)...
@Moshugaani6 жыл бұрын
I get what you’re saying, and I agree that it can sound preachy. But I think you’re missing the point a little. It’s not that only ”they” the non-Christian ”others” are corrupt and greedy and ”we” the Christians are good and decent, but that *_we all_* have this battle and dichotomy inside us that we’re striving to be great and good but we fall in various ways. But God showed his love in that he came in the person of Christ to save us and so we have someone greater to guide us and carry us even when we fail.
