First of all, TFL does the best job, IMO, of explaining and differentiating the different trim levels on all trucks. As a 70 yr old retiree driving a 2010 Silverado, I may be looking to replace it this year. I do not need off-road capability, and a 2” lift makes it more difficult for my wife to get in and out. But, the AT-4/Trailboss does look better and has some features that I would like to have. For one, I want the capability to tow 10,000 lbs, if we get a travel trailer. The same holds for the other brands. However, not your fault, the prices for these trucks may cause me to go used. Keep up the good work.

I actually love the new start/stop button and it’s new location in the cabin, this is a even more intuitive compartment than before. I do a decent amount of towing, and have had 2-3.5 ecos, a 2011 XLT and 2015 Lariat (both Gen 1's) both proved to be ultra tough and great toters. I traded the 11' at 98K for the 15', I love the way they torque along for hours at a time like a stout diesel even though they are a gasser. My 15' did break and exhaust manifold bolt at 85K but that's the only real downtime I've experienced and it only has 92K on it so instead of trading it I kept (it also has the 6.5' box which is like finding a needle in a haystack unless one special orders). In November I purchased a Lariat Powerboost and as of today it has 2,057 miles on it. I'm still learning things about it but I've been very happy with it so far. The performance characteristics are so very different than the 2 previous versions, the small amount of required throttle input to achieve the same rate of acceleration is quite a contrast due to the electric assist so I really have to step on it to even get turbo boost to register on the gauge, and when I really lay the whoop to it the acceleration is nothing short of amazing for a stock 1/2 ton, I've never experienced anything like it. I'm anxious to hitch up and tow for a few hours. P.S. keep up the great work!

Late but well done. Looks great in and out. I would like a regular Denali. Ultimate is great for those that can afford it.
@dallasfrost19963 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Everyone seems to have gone crazy over the price tag of the Ultimate. Yes, 80k for a truck sounds stupid, but the Ultimate's intentions were not to be the "affordable" trim. Its literally a fully loaded top of the line Denali, plus some more. I'm not necessarily justifying the price, but I'm not surprised either. A decently equipped regular Denali I think will be enough, not only for what people want, but to still compete against the rest within a lower, more "affordable" price range as some would say...
@rondail56753 жыл бұрын
@@dallasfrost1996 Yeah, your right. I believe Andre said the standard Denali is going to be around $61k. I love the interior of the Ultimate. It is now better than the RAM and Ford.

Love the look. Been saving and anticipating purchasing AT4. My heart sunk after driving. Very very stiff 2 inch front lift. Still researching. Not a RAM guy however just for giggles I drove RAM 1500 Laramie with Air Bags. Oh my goodness generations ahead of GM FORD and even more ahead of Toyota seats feeling like plywood 🙁. Not 💯 sure about long term air bags from anyone. Still saving and researching.

The placement for GMC trims that are being reviewed here doesn't take account for the secret Sierra EV. So there will be additional trim overlap on both Pro and Denali levels.

GMC Sierra trucks are hands down the best looking trucks on the road in my opinion. I currently own a 2020 Sierra 1500 SLT, X31 and it's the most comfortable, fun to drive and efficient truck I've owned over my 40 years buying trucks. The 10 speed transmission (as long as it's as reliable as previous trannies) is amazing. It pulls my 8,000 Lb. Boat with ease and comfort, not pulling anything it gets between 20 - 23 mph depending on wind and it's very comfortable. Having said all this, GMC is getting out of control with there packages in the Sierra. What's coming next? The Denali/Ultimate/Extra plush? Then the Denali/Ultimate/Extra Plush/X31/King, I'm loaded got everything we can think of package?

I have a 2015 Sierra SLT 4 door 4x4 that I've been considering upgrading... I only have 55k miles on mine... But these new GMC's REALLY are looking amazing. I think I may have finally found something that I'd REALLY like to replace mine with. BTW, I have LOVED my Sierra SLT., Even though it's a 2915, I still find the style very very nice and literally daily, I get asked at the gas station if I want to sell it. It's still a beautiful truck and I've kept it in really nice shape. The 2022 AT4x in that deep red color may just be the replacement for it though. Mine is the "Light Steel Gray Metallic" paint (kind of a light blue color) that I absolutely LOVE.

@@davidhaymon1708 same for diesel and gas. It is a valid response. Rinse and repeat for diesels not in 3/4 ton vehicles for years. They are there to say they have one for that small niche. Best of all, the ZR2 potentially will be cheaper too...

@@dallasfrost1996 oh 100%. The interiors slightly different as well. The trailer brake is in a different place, I think the infotainment screen on the zr2 is a bit different look compared to the at4x. The at4x doesn't even look like it has front skid plates and the bumper seems way too low.
@dallasfrost19963 жыл бұрын
@@nabatron21 The entire interior is completely different between the 2. I'm glad GM decided to give the GMC a more premium looking interior. Before, the 2 were too similar, and with that the Sierra didn't feel like it was an upscale Silverado. Thankfully they've atleast got the interior to where it needed to be on the Sierra. Overall, I prefer the GMC over the Chevy after the Refresh. But If I were to specifically get the off-road variant, I'd definitely get the ZR2 over the AT4X. The AT4X looks no different to a regular AT4. ZR2 has a bold, functional, and unique look that separates it from the Trailboss.
