I'm currently undecided between the EV6 and the GV60 due to the differing interiors and sunroofs. But too little information on boot space and other details on the GV60 not being known makes it hard to tell let alone not having pricing of either in the USA.

I think I like the look of the Ioniq 5 a little more, it looks almost like a futuristic hot hatch, and if they come out with an N model that performs as well as the EV6 GT it'll likely be my choice. Although I also do like the GV60, so I'd have to compare prices. But I like all three and am really impressed with Hyundai/Kia/Genesis overall in the EV space. Really looking forward to your GV60 review!

I am an older guy and used to be totally against EVs because I remember when they first came out and how the range was very small. I am warming to them as they seem to be improving and would not mind owning one when there are more options for charging when traveling. Another great video. Thanks.

Hey Charlie, another great review. I prefer the EV6 and I expect the dual motor, AWD GT-Line to be a great value when US pricing is finally announced. Of the sound design, the Stylish option appeals to me most. It as brilliant of Kia to make these a RWD platform with an AWD option. The chassis tuning seems to be set up for performance and ai think Kia is going to sell a ton of these in North America. Our next vehicle at be a plug-in hybrid or EV. I am going to wait though next year to see if the 2023/2024 eSportage will be AWD.

Nice to get a chance to see it on the road in blue. That’s the colour I ordered for my GT AWD. The option packages available here in Canada are somewhat less flexible than it seems to be in Korea. There are a lot of creature comforts on this 2WD version you tested that we can’t get without buying the top of the line and giving up some range. Great review as always!

Hello Charlie welcome from the UK. The EV6 was Launched 2 days ago in the UK and because i had shown an interest in this vehicle my local Dealership Evans Halshall, Stourbridge extended me an invitation to drive their demonstrator. What a stunning looking car this is externally and internally, it was a GTs rear Wheel drive and was a delight to drive. I didn’t drive it as quickly as Charlie, but you can certainly feel the acceleration is there, i tested that And it was apparent that it would stick to the road like a limpet, i have the latest Kia Sorento 4 hybrid my third of this model and I wouldn’t Change it for any other suv on the market, if i needed a second car the EV6 would be first on the list.

I do prefer the vision / larger panoramic sunroof of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Genesis GV60 over the smaller sunroof in the Kia EV6 even though those sunroofs don't open.

Definitely like the styling of the EV6 much more than the Hyundai. The pixel theme of the Ioniq just doesn't work for me at all. If I were in the market for an electric car, the EV6 would definitely be on my list. Are you still driving the Palisade? How is that holding up?

I personally like ev6 more than ioniq 5 mostly because driving dynamics are more up my alley and I like the Kia’s interior with the bigger screens more. Weird how Charlie and a lot of other people are starting to like Kias more especially because is Australia at least, Kia only a few years ago was the cheaper Hyundai. Great review and this vehicle looks good. I don't like any of the fake sounds. The natural sound of the electric motor is good enough. For the most part, it makes very little to no noise and that's fine. Also, I think the frunk is unimportant. It's a novelty. Room inside is most important. My favorite may be Ioniq 5 for its practicality and looks a bit more unique.

Each car has its own strength. I believe there is no right or wrong answer. Both cars are remarkable, my answer is the one that cost the least. Which I believe is the Ioniq 5. I live in a northern state, New Jersey, so all wheel drive is a must for me. I have reserved the Ioniq. It is frustrating waiting for pricing. It seems that Hyundai is dragging their feet coming up with a decision. Which makes me think that they won’t have cars in the states till some time next year. Kia started having commercials for the EV6 about 2 weeks ago, while the Ioniq 5 brand has none. Another great presentation on your part.

The manual pull up sunshade would definitely be a plus- my mother always uses one of those that sticks onto the inside of the window using suction cups... (but as long as they are easy to replace in the future "if" any damage... Also along the theme of easily replaceable if it comes with two sets, replaceable options that includes completely dark screens, for the campers out there, which would also vote for the roomier passenger area...)

Are you referring to regenerative braking at the 10:30 mark? I test drove a Tesla Y and I hated that every time you took the foot off the pedal, you immediately slowed down. Is the paddles by the steering wheel able to combat that, so coasting can happen?

I like both the Ioniq 5 and the EV6. I would choose the EV6 GT as it has a more luxury car look. I currently have an Alfa Romeo Stelvio and looking to get a fast car and electric lol. This has both in the Dual Motor GT when it comes out, 0-60 in 3.5-3.6 sec. That directly competes with many sports cars twice or triple the price.

When it comes to anything other than a truck, I don't care all that much for a frunk, a small one will still have its uses but the regular trunk will still be used more. I would have preferred the paddle shifters to be used for turn signals, make the steering wheel area cleaner, also make window wipers a Botton on the steering wheel, same with drive mode.

Till KIA/Hyundai came with these 2 EV cars I wasn't inclined to really consider an electric car but they solved 2 of the issues for me.First was the battery life and second was the charging time witch are both already very good.The biggest problem remaining is the infrastructure and also the fast charging infrastructure.Till recently we were upset by lack of sound insolation and now when cars got quiet we are complaining again.I like engine sounds on cars but in sports cras and not all the time and now with the new regulations they want you to be quiet almost anywhere.The Kia EV 6 became my dream car and the 4x4 long range is what I dream to buy in an year or two because it is the perfect EV car for me.It is not a cheap car by any means but if it's compared with other brands like the Jaguar or even what other brand has to offer I will go for the Kia with my eyes closed because I trust the brand and because it doesn't look like anything else.

I've had the car for a week, the sounds were turned off on day 2! I prefer a nice quiet drive. The RWD is more than enough power for me. Any more is just for showing off not for everyday driving. I prefer more cabin space than frunk space. I'm loving the car. Kia have knocked this one out of the park. Nice blue and red colours!
