I test drove the mid-spec Homura and was specifically interested in ride quality, handling and the reports of a 'less than smooth' transition from EV to Petrol. Well I suspect that a lot of the press criticisms are based on pre-production vehicles. Ride quality was fine, handling good. I did get one slightly abrupt transmission interaction when I pushed a little hard from some traffic lights but I'm sure you can figure out how to avoid that AND I suspect there will be ESC / gearbox updates in future. Performance... well I did not really push it as I don't like doing that to a new engine but it felt fine and overtaking was accomplished pretty well - but it did not feel like a 5.8 seconds to 60 mph vehicle. I shall add perspective and say that I currently drive a Maserati Levante S (424 or so BHP and around 5.0 to 60). The CX-60 ride was similar to the Levante - albeit the Levante is on 21" wheels and has air suspension. Some of the cabin design around the centre console is also very similar. Overall I loved it and ordered an Exclusive line with convenience and driver assist packs. The comfort pack has little for me... don't want 20" wheels (ride quality, price of rubber and less fuel efficiency), don't need electric adjusting seat stuff, ventilated seats always make me feel like I've had an accident and I rarely have rear seat passengers so the heated rears would not get used (had them in my Audi all road BiTdi and they only got used a few times in the 6 years I owned it. Got to wait until early next year as it's a factory order.
@szabiszekely2 жыл бұрын
Does the Exclusive line come with 18" wheels there? Here in EE you only get 18" with the base trim (Prime line). If Mazda would add an air-suspension option to the facelifted CX-60 in a couple of years... man, that would be something.

Great review. What no one tells in review’s is the fuel consumption with empty battery. I don’t have charging at home and for example Toyota RAV4 and Ford Kuga (system licensed from Toyota) can pull amazing 4.5 l /100 km (52 mpg) consumptions with empty battery from their 2.5 litre non-turbo atkinson cycle engine with no battery power. I drove Kuga at city and got even 3.9 l/100 km (60 mpg) - heavy car with awd! If Mazda reach similar figures, this could be my next company car. I guess I have to wait ecodriver to get his hands on this one.

I drove a bit with no battery yesterday and was getting somewhere around 40-55. However when the fuel consumption is this good and the full power just find a rapid charger on a break and reap the reward of that fuel cons. David

The Mazda cx60 has been hammered in the German motoring press for handling, suspension, chassis and transmission issues.... I've a test drive next week so I will see for myself if this is the case. Currently own a CX5 which I'm very happy with...

What did you think after your test drive?
@topthecat22592 жыл бұрын
@@cgnefarious5785 Lots of whirring sounds and jerky movements at low speeds, suspension feels very wooden and thumps on poor road surfaces. Interior quality good, super acceleration. Some software and infotainment glitches but that was also the case with my CX5. I'm sure all these teething problems will be resolved in due course by Mazda (they are in the process of six month testing in Australia which is one of their primary markets) but by that point the environmental bonus will no longer apply in Germany. At 62k Euro Takumi with all packages and reluctance to discount it is not a buying proposition for me.

No its not. I test-drove the diesel version of this car yesterday. The power, interior design, and exterior appearance are impressive. It felt great driving on flat roads. However, the road noise was quite loud when driving over coarse chip at speed. It's not a quiet highway cruiser; instead, it's loud and boomy. The suspension feels cheap and doesn't effectively absorb bumps or road imperfections. Additionally, there was a small rattle in the dashboard. Overall, I would not recommend this car yet, but I'd like to one day, after Mazda do the engineering properly, and address the asking price. Its unresolved.

2 questions: 1. Is the outside mirror position saved with the driver settings? 2. Did Mazda finally introduce a touch-screen or are they still 10 years backwards compared to everyone else on the market?
@EdenMotorGroup2 жыл бұрын
It is indeed. The reason mazda got rid of the touch screen was because it helped safety rating using the dial rather than looking away to touch the screen. You can still see it in your peripheral vision David
@Colintetts2 жыл бұрын
yes it is
@szabiszekely2 жыл бұрын
Mazda always had touch-screens but around 2017 started slowly disabling the touch functionality. I've owned a good number of Mazdas and I competely agree with them. I'm not sure how much safer it is but it's way faster to do most of the repeating tasks (I'd say 90% of everything) and slightly slower to do some random tasks (say 10% of the interactions). I honestly haven't heard of any Mazda users complain about this.
@Abakaschi2 жыл бұрын
I (personally) disagree. No phone manufacturer in this world will make me switch back from today‘s smart - & touchscreen phones back to those prehistoric ones that had to be operated using „buttons“ beneath the screen. I do understand that others will see this differently. But for me it’s simple, no touchscreen, no buy. My wife currently has a 2020 CX5, and we both hate (with a passion) that it has no touchscreen. Lease is up soon..
@szabiszekely2 жыл бұрын
@@Abakaschi I understand but I think you're in the minority. I can (I kid you not) do a bunch of tasks without even looking at the screen (change my max charge level, go to music and play song, go to navi, move from carplay to mazda and back, etc.). I also have a Discovery and it's mentally more difficult to look at the screen, find the button, wait half a sec for the new screen to pop up, etc.).

What's much more important is how poorly packaged this car is. It's big but not much space inside. I am 1.9m tall. Just about enough front legroom when I drop the seat down but couldn't attempt to sit behind myself! Another £45,000 three seater! So disappointed - wanted to like this car...

That’s unfortunate our manager is 6ft 4inches and he swears it’s the most room he’s had in a long while. The driver position system is there because most drivers tend to not set up a car in an ideal way to help long term back and lumbar issues. This way multiple drivers can be set up without having to worry about it. I’m terms of value for money, when you compare this against other 5 seater premium cars in the same class like the Audi, Bmw etc it tends to be anywhere from £10,000-£20,000 cheaper for a like for like specification. David
