Fyi, the car is 6 seconds faster than the previous generation GT3RS, and 17 seconds faster than the previous-gen GT3. It's not that they added a ton of hp, just nine more. Then add a brilliantly engineered suspension and aero kit. *There is no substitute.* Edit: Damn 1k likes! Never received anything like this before. Thx!

It is 17.36 seconds faster, not 12. Previous records were on the 20.6 km layout, since 2019 records are officially (as in signed off by the owners of the Nordschleife) using the full 20.832 km layout again.

It is wearing Cup2 R tires, which is sticker compound then the cars you are comparing to. I wouldn't be surprised if a 991.2 GT3 with Cup2 R tires matched the 992 GT3's times.

It's crazy how much slower this car is in a straight line than it's contemporary supercar rivals, yet it still can smoke em around the Nords (and sound better than 99% of them in the process). All withour forced induction. THAT right there is why the world loves German engineering

@@Youthuba The Turbo S is definitely fast in a straight line, but we aren't talking about the Tuurbo S. We are talking about the GT3 and the GT3 isn't very fast in a straight line relative to contemporary super cars. It does out handle almost all of them however. And for my money, I'd take a GT3 (or, in my case, a GT3 Touring with a manual) with an NA engine that screams up to 9000RPM over a Turbo S any day

No one, NO ONE, makes a flat-6 like Porsche does. The 911 is the most beautiful example of the power a flat 6 can deliver...notice how the Boxer-flat 6 is continually pitted against much larger engines. That speaks volumes about Porsche. Wow!! The 6:59 time is for the full track. All previous references were for the shorter 20.6 km. This car did the shorter lap in 6:55 and that's impressive! Faster than the 918 spyder and the previous gen 911 gt3rs. Cant wait to see what the rs version of this will be capable of. Let alone the gt2rs...

They started doing that many years ago, and the reason is so they have time to brake and enter the pits without needing to go around the whole track one more time. The SA lap is basically the de facto standard today, I think almost all laps you see are the SA lap.

@@baschdlKA stimmt wohl, schade nur das es andere selten tun, erstmals jetzt beim Gt BS durfte Maro Engel ran, daher die Zeit, schätze wäre er einen normalen gtr pro gefahren wäre dieser auch sehr identisch mit dem gt3rs. Stimme zu, Lars kern fährt sehr gut! war kaum langsamer als Estre beim test für den 991.2gt3 rs, war 0,5sec differenz nur zu Estre denke ich.
