Thank you. This was a very enlightening talk w/Maggie. I'm looking at AirBnbs for scouting trip now. I hope I can meet her in person when I go.

And, for Panamá pensionado visa the steady income (minimum of $1000/month) must be for remainder of life, guaranteed.

Is minimum age required? I'm interested but am 43yo
@ayozola2 ай бұрын
@@Covered-Girl 18 years of age. So, any adult...as long as you can show lifetime guaranteeof the $1000/ month.

@ayozola wonderful.... thank you.... I have that+ scheduled monthly until 2036... is that excluditory... even if I flip that into minimum (at least) duration after 2036

In Panama: *Do apt. rents increase annually? *Is land ownership/residentail ownership possible/feasible/wise?
@OurBlackUtopiaАй бұрын
Hey Covered Girl, I'm not sure if Maggie is checking these comments - you might want to go to her channel and ask. My understanding is that, unlike Mexico, foreigners may own property in Panama. And I don't believe rents automatically increase annually. But again ask Maggie or Charlotte. Here's our interview with her: kzbin.infotTKFAWHQ3Q0

I have been to Panama twice and I loved it. The heat tried to take me out though😅 I plan to go back at some point.
@singlewomenretiringabroad2 ай бұрын
Ha ha...yes, the heat can be a challenge.
@OurBlackUtopia2 ай бұрын
Hey Nomadic Vibes - I can't do heat, even here in Lisbon with minimal humdity, when it's above 85 - I'm miserable. 😭

The Peace Corps did not set you up right. Maggie, if they opened it up to older adults then those in charge were supposed to make sure it was a success by matching you in an environment that could help you succeed. In turn, villagers could benefit from your seasoned experience and knowledge.
@OurBlackUtopiaАй бұрын
I agree - though I know nothing about the Peace Corp - it didn't sound like they were setting her up for success.

To each their own but I dislike France for what it’s done/doing to Haiti.
@singlewomenretiringabroad2 ай бұрын
Well, we can dislike most of the world then. I've visited and would not choose to live there.
@OurBlackUtopiaАй бұрын
No judgement - I probably would too. And to make matters worse they have made it easier for folks from the former colonies to immigrate to FR than they seem to treat them like crap. At least that is the experience of some Black French acquaintances. 😢. That said, I've still yet to have a real visit and I would like to. But Portugal is home for now.
