I like the dark heather color way with what looks like a pop of red on the "Fear of God State" lettering. As someone who wore Abercrombie/American Eagle back in the day I totally see the resemblance...and not gonna lie I really like the more collegiate direction with putting "State" in the design language. Honestly I like all the newer pieces more each drop. The v neck sweater vest, oversized jersey, and jorts on the last drop have been some of my favorite pieces. I think people need to get out of the hoodie and sweats mentality of Essentials and realize there are other pieces in this line that are better with experimentation for styling. I’m looking forward to the waffle cardigan/ kimono because it is something new and I like the collegiate route this collection is going in. The shrunken vintage hoodies coming out are definitely different too because it gives off 70/80s college athlete aesthetics. It’s such a double edge sword because you have the die hard who refuse to evolve which makes Jerry question his design choices and you have the people who want to see something new but it doesn’t sell well.

I miss the old essentials, 2019-2022 With the old style branding and fits like the slimmer sweatpants and the nylon volley shorts and colorways such as taupe, desert taupe, string, harvest, pistachio, stretch limo, etc. If he did a throwback drop like that my wallet would be hurting lol Also the old old tee and crewneck drops (2018 I believe) with the big 3m essentials branding on the back Ah those were the times

I will say this I do like the collection because I’m in minimalist at heart. But I think people are kind of getting tired of the repetitive fashion with Jerry. And there’s no disrespect to him I like it stuff a lot, but I feel like the masses want something a little bit more different. Also, I think there’s a shift and Fashion happening right now. I think it’s shifting towards fast fashion a lot. And people are trying to look fashionable and spend less money. The amount of people I see buying Shein and Temu and even shoes from Walmart. Is wild to me. But I think that’s also part of what’s happening with the economy. People can’t afford everything and this is also I feel the issue with shoes too. People aren’t Nikes anymore. They’re just sitting people. Don’t want to spend all that money.
