This is maybe the third video I’ve seen of this new model, I think these are pretty damn nice. Then again I think you can hand Cooper a broomstick with a piece of string and he’ll make it sound good haha!

I think it's Cooper's second alternative: Fender's gone the distance to produce a great addition to the Acoustasonic line, and in five colors! The Blend knob that allows mixing of Modes A & B is a nice touch, too. Fender did a great job at modeling guitar sounds, and a great job of promotion on KZbin. I lost count of the number of video reviewing this March 16 and 17! I always scroll down at the end 'cause I can't bear to watch the destruction of that guitar as an outro. Great review, Cooper!

I liked the Tele over the Strat but the Jazzmaster I think sounds the best out of the three.
@im58woody3 жыл бұрын
Shawn you and me think alike. It sounds pretty great. I owned the Tele version for a couple months and then sold it. I loved how it felt and how it was built, but the sounds weren't great, just ok.

I think so also. All three played great, the jazzmaster blew me away

This one just works. The humbucker, the offset body, and all of the tones you can make. I just think it’s the best of the acoustasonic series.

I'm late to the party, but since I just tried and purchased the Jazzmaster Acoustasonic today after comparing it to the Tele and Strat Acoustasonic models, I want to add my $.02 to the discussion. I was immediately drawn to the Jazzmaster version with its 'bucker pickup vs the single coil pups on the Tele and Strat models. The Jazzmaster has a much fuller sound and emulates acoustic guitar sounds more accurately sonically than the Tele and Strat models. Unplugged the Jazzmaster is more resonant as well. It so happens that the guitar I came home with is the same color as the one Cooper is demonstrating in this video. Personally I think the color contrasted with the beautiful mahogany looks terrific. It just so happens that I have a Franklin guitar strap in the classic style with the shoulder pad sliding over a narrow strap. The color of the strap is nearly identical to the mahogany guitar body/neck. Makes a great looking combo, and the skinny strap doesn't cut across my neck. Anyone interested in the Fender Acoustasonic line of guitars should try to find a shop that has all three models available so as to be able to compare them side-by-side. For me the clear choice was the Jazzmaster. It is a very versatile instrument which also happens to be very comfortable to play. The setup on my chosen guitar was perfect. I also played a Jazzmaster model with natural wood soundboard. Beautiful guitar, but needed a good setup. It would be nice if Fender would PLEK the necks/fingerboards for optimum playability. Terrific video demonstrating the various tones on the guitar, Cooper. As usual your incredible talent brings out the best in the instruments you demonstrate. Just one question: Were you running the guitar through the Fender electric guitar amp shown in the background, or were you plugged into an invisible acoustic guitar somewhere?
@christophercalceta77182 жыл бұрын
I bought the same one as well. Great guitar! I'm the lead singer in my band so I play mostly rhythm with my Martin acoustic but it can be such a one trick pony and bulky on stage. The acoustasonic couldn't have come at a better time. The different voicing options on this are great. It's nice that I can plug right into the mixer and get going. It's also nice to be able to add some grit when I want it. Personally, I'm over the brightness of a Strat so when I compared the Strat version to this one... it was an easy sell. I think it's an amazing guitar. Absolutely worth every penny.

The Jazzmaster isn’t as ugly as the Strat or the Tele, but I really wish that they would paint the entire guitar. I just don’t like the natural look. Thanks Cooper this is the most logical/informative review I’ve seen.

I think I prefer the Strat voicings. That said, I like the fact that Fender mixes things up. It would feel stale or just a gimmick of a new shape if the sounds did not change with each release. Now, I could not see myself buying all three because there is not enough of a difference between the Tele, Strat and Jazzmaster version, but I would love to hear a side by side comparison.

Really top-notch demo - thanks. For me, most of the modelling sounds from the humbucker are pretty good, whereas the sounds from the piezo pickup are horribly bright to the point of sounding 'tinny.' And the fender electric semi-clean sound is equally harsh and abrasive. Given that I come from a contemporary acoustic guitar background but also a jazz background, I'd only ever be using the softer tones. As it happens I'm a big fan of solid-body jazzmaster guitars with P90 pickups. Although almost no-one actually uses them for jazz, are actually pretty darned good in that role. After all, Leo Fender DESIGNED them SPECIFICALLY for jazz, and he really knew what he was doing. So for me, I'd either have a Jazzmaster Acoustasonic or perhaps one of the recent Fender Highway series (I like the all-Mahogany guitars) and ALSO have a solid-body Jazzmaster as well - given that they are different, but complimentary. I'm not a fan of trying to make what is in essence an acoustic guitar into anstrument for playing heavy rock with loads of distortion. I don't personally care for distorted sounds anyway, but TBH you can do that with pretty much any solid-body electric guitar, why on EARTH woud anyone in their right mind wish to play heavy rock on an acoustic..?

Cooper's demos on all three versions of the Acoustasonic are excellent. From his exceptional playing I ended up making the decision to buy the Strat version. I think this guitar fits perfectly in my situation. I changed my strings out to electrics and actually play the guitar quite a bit unplugged since other folks around the house don't necessarily want to hear repetitive practice sessions or when I am composing something new. For me, having the acoustic voices in an electric sized body is what I was needing. Even the electric voicings are more organic sounding than what I get out of all my other electric guitars. This Acoustasonic Strat has me playing it without the pick most of the time which has allowed me to get more creative when composing. I have owned the Taylor T5z Koa and can say that I actually prefer the voicing options and playability of the Acoustasonic Strat. Not that the T5z isn't a wonderful guitar because it is. I actually carve guitars and have made various solid body electrics including a few headless models. I consider my Acoustasonic to be an asset and valuable tool in my arsenal of guitars.🙂

It seems the thought process going into this guitar is an attempt to make a one size fits all, Jack of all trades type guitar seem appealing. Although the price point of this guitar puts it at the professional level, it's still a "Jack of all trades" "Master of nothing" guitar imho. Most any guitar can sound decent in a Masters hands but put a Martin, Guild, or Taylor acoustic and then a Les Paul, Telecaster, or a Stratocaster in that same Masters hands and they take on a life of their own and become a best friend. Think Willie Nelson's "Trigger", BB Kings "Lucille", Eric Clapton's "Blackie" and you may understand. Again, just my opinion after observation. But it's a cool novelty.

I bought Acoustasonic Strat 3 months ago, and I return it after 2 days. There was some issues and generaly I was disappointed. Also, 2000 usd guitar shouldn't look so cheap. And for that price, Fender should provide hard case. Im a member of fb group Fender Acoustasonic and I reed so many posts of owners who have issues with these guitars. 2 months ago, I bought Godins A6 Ultra cognac burst. And I love it! Its guitar without any issues, and it looks beautiful! Ok, there is no many sounds like Acoustasonic, but I paid it 960 usd. Anyway, it seems this Acoustasonic Jazzmaster sounds better than Tele and Strat.

You want a hollow-bodied guitar machined out of a block of wood with an inlayed top and a bespoke Fishman electronics package all machined and assembled on a dedicated line within a USA Custom Shop for 300 bucks? Why don't you stand outside a Rolex shop and complain that you can't get a Submariner for the same price as a Timex. Unless all you buy is Glarrys, you "it's way overpriced" headbangers are hilarious. What's even more hilarious is how many of you don't blink once when you pay 2k+ for yet another Les Paul Standard with QC that would make a 15 year old kid in a Chinese factory shrink with embarrassment.

Of course, you could buy yet another Les Paul Standard instead. One guitar for the price of four by your measure, with QC that would make Glarry blush with embarrassment.

It is way´s easier to build a traditional solid body e guitar, then a acoustasonic. And it is this what a lot of guitarists like. One lite instrument with a big range. Yes it is expansive. But not too much. You can save, if you take a mexican model.
