I love this thing... of course, I have to get one of the Custom Shop versions to go along with my Friedman Surf Green Vintage S Heavy Relic. My BE-100 OD Pedal works great with my amps for those small gigs with a combo... but this as a studio and Fly Rig to FOH situation... it's a no brainer! Goes without saying... THIS... IS... IT! 😎🤘🎸

So now what do I go with? This just made it more difficult. Friedman IR-X (con not a 100w nano amp/may or not need a power amp $$ if I ever want to mic a cab) or Blue Guitar Amp 1 Iridium (no IR cab/XLR to FOH & IEM system so need to buy that) or Blackstar Dept 10 Amped 3 (heard IRs are not that good)???? My main lead guitar player plays the real miced-out Bogner amp so I don't feel the need to carry amps since I only play a few songs and I am the lead singer. Live/small clubs: Guitar -> pedal board /amp pedal solution -> Splitter to IEM system & FOH (need) Guitar -> pedal board /amp pedal solution -> 2x12 cab -> Splitter to IEM system & FOH (nice to have just in case) Which of the 3 pedals above would you go with?

They're all great. So in a nutshell. IR-X is classic BE100 Friedman. The IR-D is fatter, with nice clean fat clean tones, a little more classic vibes. IR-J is sharper and faster more Marshall JCM800.

This seems like all the tones from Small Box and BE lines with a BB clean (which I absolutely love), but is there a way to get those killer, warm/fat Dirty Shirley tones? I’d have to try and decide between this and the Synergy gear, but this looks like a killer piece of gear. You demo’d the living sh!t out of this…..well done, Michael!

Been coming across your channel a lot when I am searching about these amps lately (the Friedmans and the Tone King amongst others) and I have to say I love your reviews and your playing. I do have a question though about this Friedman. Say if I did want to run the balanced out to the mains or an audio interface and run the effects send to somewhere else to run through a live cab, does the send have to go into an amp head or combo's effect's return? Can the effects send run from the Friedman IR-X run into an input of a power amp like some of the power amp pedals out there or a seymour duncan powerstage, quilter or similar? I want to downsize my live rig eventually but yet still be able to monitor off a live cab while sending a signal to the board. Thanks!
