Really exciting world to be in. We are so lucky today as guitarists. I used to own the Synergy Dirty Shirley module and it was a awesome pedal platform as well

As you say, almost perfect low- to mid-gain tones. Dave and Co should make an enclosure like this for the Synergy preamp modules. I think this is just a repackaged Synergy module anyway.

There is no doubt it is amazing technology I ordered this already as well as the IRX I think having them both and linking them through their effect loops into my amplifiers is the best way to go for me and I do enjoy having them there for the versatility but I a Friedman twin sister I have one of the 20 W mini dirty Shirley amp heads and then I also have a Friedman box 50 but having these two petals have certainly been a great addition to my home playing no doubt however I’ve already invested in all the attenuators to with three rock crushers. I’m not going to tell you that this is my favorite way to play I think this is definitely a great solution. I’m using it on the road a little bit and local gigs, but for anything major I’m still taking a nap. I mean I really think that it’s just going to take time for everyone to adapt. I know there are tubes in this but man I like my 2 x 12 I gave up the 4 x 12 but I’m not sure about the 2 x 12 yet, and this thing really works best and a computer environment. It is although great in my opinion not the most ideal for a gig but then again I a I am and have been an all Tube amp guitarist that’s all I’ve ever used for 37 years until I bought that IRX I have certainly used regular pedals of course but the IRX was the first thing I had ever bought, but I trust Friedman and that’s why and I do think it’s a great thing and it is helping me a great deal with recording. I am just not sure about it on the road as a permanent solution but great great demo as always you always have a great great show. I appreciate it. Chris. Great plan and thanks man. I mean I did it because of your show. I just thought I’d get back on comment. Take care. 5:46

@adamswanson82168 ай бұрын
Yes, you definitely can run it into your effect loop. That’s how I’m using them too, but I’m using them into Friedman amplifiers and I can honestly tell you side-by-side. They are pretty damn close. I’m using a 20 W Shirley and a 50 W small box I’m using the IRX and the IRD, as I have a twin sister and the tones are spot on and the touch sensitivity is way better than the synergy thanks couldn’t refuse these. I already had mine when he did the video lol the pedals have been great although again I don’t know if they’re gonna be an on the road solution for me but definitely a hell of a good recording and home solutionand a lot more enjoyable enjoyable than a rock crusher 8:02 8:33

does it have a built in poweramp like the victory pedal amps so that i can go directly to speaker or do i need aditional/seperate poweramp or an active speaker like fender tonemaster?

Does not have a built in power amp. It’s preamp section of amp. You would run this into your existing amp or a power amp, or even direct to PA for live.

Hello Kris, many thanks for your videos & reviews. They are always honest, well recorded, nice structured (different guitars, picking, struming ...) & a real pleasure to hear. I plan to buy the Friedman IR D to use it with the UA OX stomp box (I love the sound and room option). You said in the video that the IR and the power amp simulation was off with a long press. The manuel only talks about IR in this case. Do you think that i'll loose the power amp sim with the UA OX stomp ?
@KrisBarocsi5 ай бұрын
@@RODY-e2g Thanks so much man! Well if the manual says so, then it’s true. 😅 I might have miscommunicated that. Fact is, the IR-X and the IR-D both sound amazing with the OX Stomp so don’t worry about it. 🙌

I would buy it if it had 2 outputs (one for FOH, one for poweramp return). Yes, you can go from the FX send to a power amp, but then you loose FX-loop and all effects have to be used in front of the pedal. Who uses Reverb/Delay pedals before the preamp?
@politoleo8 ай бұрын
As in the manual you can go from balanced out to FOH, then from output of the last effect in the chain on the return of the amp and on the return of the IR-X/IR-D using a passive splitter (just an Y cable)

Awesome breakdown of the pedal, lovely playing that showed the tones very well.,thank you! How close would you say this sounds to the real DS? (I had a Friedman Little Sister for a while and really loved the sound and feel of playing that amp) I thought the "touch response" (playing dynamics responding to your picking etc) of the little sister was amazing, does this have any of that lovely feel? Thanks in advance!

@@tested211 Thanks a lot! This is definitely close to the big amp in both sound and feel. I mean in an A/B test you probably hear a difference but the great feel of the IR-D makes up for whatever the difference is. 👍

Thanks man, yeah the ir-d is incredible. The only fx I used was a bit of reverb (uafx golden). Nothing else, except for the drive pedals in the part where I tested the friedman as a pedal platform (the drives were on screen). Uhh tough question. If you really love Friedman amps then yes. 😆 But you can get similar tones with the ir-x too so it’s not really necessary. For me the ir-x is much more about high gain though, so if you find yourself backing up the gain on that one all the time, the ir-d might make sense.
