We bought a GT Pantera grey in December 2023. One of the first ones in the state. We have 9000 miles on it, and have driven it way past Vail and back to Highlands Ranch without charging. This car is truly deserving of the vehicle of the year awards, best of the best. Truly an amazing vehicle. We get about 320 miles on a charge. My wife raced a RAM TRX in an on-ramp and pulled away from it! Oh, and we passed on the electric second row seats, because they moved slow and cost an additional $3k, Kia warranty is also 100,000 or ten years! If you’re complaining about price, a Rivian is like $20k more. Totally love your channel, been watching for like 8 years. I watch you all until my legs fall asleep while on the toilet.

It took me 1-2 weeks to get comfortable with all the controls. They were easy to learn. We love the ottomans, kids use it all the time on road trips. The pull out handles prevent kids from pulling on them over and over until you unlock the car. 😊 It is definitely a great family car and the lease deal is amazing compared to Rivian.

I am currently leasing a KIA EV9 GT Line. It’s my first EV. On the positive side are : very fast charging with a sustained 200 kw plus charging curve to about 65 % SOC, quiet ride, competent and reliable driver assist systems, huge cabin space and decent seats. On the downside side is maneuverability in tight parking spaces, high beam assist is not a set and forget option, the lane assist cannot cope with tight bends on highway conditions, but above all the power usage at constant 130 kmh speeds, the speed limit detector is useless and the route planning is not up to date. The car is well built and draws attention. Cheers from overcast Switzerland.

Agree w/ Roman in this case. Cars should be more intuitive at this point. Certain things did not require reinventing. Also agree with him regarding the aesthetic. Not a vehicle for me, in any way.

See I'm with Tommy here (and I'm more inline with Romans age than Tommies). If you drive a vehicle for a week you know it inside and out. When you change all the time things can get confusing to find. Currently I don't own a vehicle I rent for weekends when I need one, and every time i have to spend a bit of time getting to know it, and usually still finding new things by the end of my time with it.

Hey Roman, the elderly are buying sedans, big suv is being bought by younger people who need 3 rows and have different taste in design and technology preferences. Price is rather crazy, 80k for KIA? The Hyundai's are supposed to be higher end. The Genesis line is really nice.

So first impression from watching this video: This car was made for young people. Young people don't typically have that kind of money. Kia has been doing an amazing job at all their other EVs. Here's to hoping that "dad" is wrong about the dashboard being overwhelming. That said, it's the unnecessarily gargantuan size and the hefty price tag that bother me most.

The older guy is bitching for no reason. A common complaint is that features are hidden beneath multiple layers of options in touchscreens. Now, Kia has laid out separate screens and buttons so that you don't have to fiddle with multiple layers as much. And this older guy is still complaining! I guess he wants thousands of physical buttons, one for each option? He sounds like he will never be happy.

Really like the father/son, old/new chemistry and dynamic from Roman, the TFL OG, and son Tommy. Reinventing the wheel isn’t normally something that goes over well and appeals to too small a niche I think the EV9 lands somewhere in between the impression from Roman and enthusiasm from Tommy. Ahh youth wasted on the young! I’m not an EV fan so it wouldn’t appeal to me in general but I think the looks would get dated too quickly. I also think that at $80k there are more practical options

Too many unneeded toys, just to push the price up! I was watching the electric motor slide forward the 2nd row seat so slowly and remembering the 70s when manual tilt and slide entry to the rear seats was the norm, and essentially instant. Motorised lift gate on the rear? 2 struts and a pull strap (for those too small to reach the handle). Thousands in options that aren't needed and make the vehicle expensive. And when Roman said it's too small...
