I have just been promoted to team leader in my company, start 13.1.20. I am going into an established well run and experienced care team, supporting individuals that have come through the criminal justice system and require support to integrate into the community so they can live a better quality of life. I'm 48, I have a lot of life experience and about 8yrs experience in care, 4yrs with my current employer. I am looking forward to this challenge and appreciate these videos. Any advice you can give is greatly appreciated.

Let's be straight; a work group is not a 'team' a 'team' is a very specific focused group interworking on a specific objective. The accounts section is not a 'team' it is a work group. The management of a work group is very different from the management of a team, like the management of a football team is very different from that of an athletics 'team'.

I will be a new manager in a new country with different culture for like 10 employees. Do you this is healthy for the relation of the work to lunch together or maybe not? I am afraid that this can leads a prefered treament group in the eyes of other employees
@BudtoBossOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Eating with only a small part of the team on a consistent basis could create a preferred treatment group (or at least the perception of it). If a manager goes to lunch with employees, they probably need to think about going to lunch (at some point) with all members of the team. I don't think a single lunch would be a problem (usually), but a consistent pattern of spending time with only a select group of people could create a problem. This is all based on US culture. It might be different in a different part of the world.

For this to be a professional video I think it would be cool if your shirt was buttoned up in a more professional or business manner.
