I used to work somewhere that was extremely informal, people came in wearing jeans and caps most of the time, so I went with it. It was an office setting and I was in management so I figured why not, well one of the things that I was told after over a year, close to two years with them was that I needed to "look the part" --- NEVER AGAIN.

Part of my anxiety is that this isn’t my “dream” job. The main reason for my anxiety is that this job isn’t something I give a f_{k about, but am merely taking to survive. I’m presented with the existential dilemma of caring, but not caring. If I were starting my “dream job,” I could handle it myself because I’m drivin by a passion. But most of us don’t have that luxury. Most of us are drivin just to survive and face the existential degradation to coexist with just “a” job.

Maybe you can reframe this perspective about your job to be more positive. Think of the things your job enables you to do, save money, pay for leisure activities, socialise, learn new skills etc. Plus, you can always do things in the background outside of your job, to upskill, research, and work towards a job you are more interested in, whilst holding down a job and earning a living. Life can seem pointless if you overthink it, and look for deeper meaning/purpose in everything. Be mindful, live in the present moment and appreciate being alive, healthy and keep with it!
