I love it but I kinda chuckled when I saw the M&P grips. I dunno what it is, such a simple solution to a major problem with this kind of weapon, but the idea someone in a board meeting went "I GOT IT!", went and snagged a couple M&P frames and duct taped them to the bottom of this shotgun and blew everyone's mind, like... I'm not dogging the solution, it works perfectly, but just the mere fact execs approved such a "keep it simple, stupid" solution is awesome

It may be that the problem that the pistol grips SW was solving was risking a lawsuit by Keltec. Without denying that the SW 12 is of superior quality and is an advancement on the KSG's design, it obviously "borrowed" the essential aspects of the KSG design and SW would need to thread carefully and introduce enough differences to avoid a patent infringement lawsuit. One thing that SW needs to be honest about is the Load Assist feature. As far as I know, nobody who owns a shotgun except possibly those who own other shotgun bullpups such as the KSG or DP 12 wishes they had the MP 12's Load Assist feature. The reason that is there is that while the MP 12 has a lot going for it, such as its high round loading capacity, the most frustrating thing with the MP 12 is that actually loading it is a slow and often frustrating process, especially once you mount a red dot. The Load Assists makes it a little easier but it still a slow process to perform. Its silly to list this as a "feature" in the ad. It also makes it really easy to remove gunshot rounds, so perhaps if they really wanted to list it as a feature, they could have called it "Easy Remove" or "Easy Unload." Having said that, it is a great shotgun. This has a high capacity for shells, especially if you use mini shells, so if easy loading shells, especially, tactically reloading, isn't a must have feature, this is a great choice.

Hey, everyone I know says that the KSG is difficult to load safely, and generally. Could you elaborate on that? I don't own one yet.

@@sairabanokazmi1150 I guess you mean tactical reloads. It's not difficult to load, but fast tactical reloads are awkward because it loads from below and far back where the action is. I don't think there is anything particularly unsafe about loading or reloading it. But that's part of the point of the high capacity. In a real world situation like a home invasion or the like, if you need more than you have loaded in those tubes, you likely have bigger problems than that firearm was likely to solve. In any case, practice and training are key, especially with a firearm that has features that substantially vary from typical. The safety issue that most will point out is how close the hand can be to the muzzle, and the possibility of the hand slipping off while operating the slide and ending up in front of the muzzle. That has happened. Most will recommend some kind of forearm grip or hand-stop. But even then, nothing replaces practice and training. I also like my KSG because it fits in my Harley hard saddlebag.

@@FernandoChaves thanks for the info. I'd like to elaborate on the safety issue, they said it's pretty hard to reload (tactically) without pointing the muzzle in the air, which some ranges are really strict about. It's not a problem on a private farm or range, but it's a problem in public ranges.

I dont know I’m a big fan of S&W M&P series firearms. I own 4 different ones but for my shotgun I went with the Keltec KSG. This thing just fell like a toy gun because it was almost completely polymer build. It is the one M&P I think I’m not a fan of. I have an M&P Shield Plus, an M&P 15-22, an M&P 15 and an M&P FPC (bad ass gun!). But ya I would never buy the M&P 10 because there are way better .308’s out there like Daniel Defense. But I would rock the M&P 10mm Performance Center that gun is my next more pricey pick up. It already comes with Night Vision sights which is sick, I love fiber optics and night viz sights.

So not excited about this. Handled the KelTec and never liked the feel of having my hand inches from the muzzle of a shotgun. If they wanted a good shotty to copy, use the berreta 1301 as a template.
