While I agree with everything you’re saying, I think that it being a “Storm 4.5” is kinda the point. When you look at it like another Generations or Revolution, a lot of what Connections is starts to make more sense. Both of those interim games were also games that didn’t have significant changes or improvements and pretty much just came with a roster update, some small changes here and there, and their own self contained story.

It's essentially what fighting games used to do back in the day, release a balance patch as a full game. What it is doing right is that there was MORE than enough time between Ninja Storm games to warrant this existing.

All it did was make all of the characters feel incomplete by blocking of a part of their moveset at all times. Storm connections changes are infinitely better than anything storm revolution has done.

Connections is supposed to be the intermediary between Storm 4 and Storm 5. That's what Generations and Revolution existed for, Connections is just like that. Storm 5 is *probably* gonna release either in the middle of Two Blue Vortex if its extremely popular, or at the end of Two Blue Vortex.

Idk if that's gonna be the case. They wouldn't make a brand new game only to then replace it with another one a few years down the line. Especially since this game looks like it'll have a season pass, a new story, almost every character from all the storm games and the entirety of naruto's story and Boruto's story (to the end of part 1). To me it seems like this game might be a live service version of what storm 5 was supposed to be.

> All the old stages being brought back have already been confirmed The only thing that I'm really wanting and it could be possible but I am not going to hold my breath is unique item sets for each character and characters having their awakening action or jutsu from awakening for their second jutsu with obvious balance patches if they aren't going to create a second jutsu or they don't have an interesting tilt that could be as a normal jutsu. The unique item sets would bring more uniqueness to each character and if the item sets switch along with you switching characters that would mean a lot more variety when it comes to picking your character. It would be interesting to see characters like Itachi's item set something that is meant to decrease your opponent's stats while someone like Hidean is focused on purely defense making him just a tank. The awakening actions or jutsu from awakening may decrease the uniqueness of each awakening but I much rather have characters have interesting jutsu like the 2nd Hokage thunder slash while he teleports across the map or Darui using Black Panther jutsu besides them just doing a simple water slide.

CC2 didn't really have to make an all new storm game. Storm 4 isn't perfect, but the game still has potential updates and DLCs to make it even better. That's really all they had to do. The gameplay didn't need improvements to make it "easier." The gameplay in Storm 4 is fine enough as it is. If it's not broke, don't fix. Storm 4 just needed updates and new character DLC season passes. That alone would have brought the community together. Plus, CC2 are looking like hypocrites with this new Storm game. They told us Storm 4 was going to be the last Storm game. No, Storm connections isn't Storm 5. But it is technically another Storm game...so, yeah. Looking forward to the game, but still taking it with a grain of salt.
