Yeah but you gotta drop probably around 100k € for it, while the more "accessible" Cayman and Cayman S still have the soulless and boring turbo 4 cylinder which sounds like a lawnmower. As of right now if you want a Cayman for a good price the only option is a used one from 2013 to 2016, when even the base bomodels had a 6 cyl.

Steve C for me it’s not so much about the speed or miles per gallon, I just miss the sound of the flat six on the 718s. I could never give up my Boxster S 986 due to the sound. While the 986 has its own slew of problems, most of which are preventable with maintenance, it still is an overall solid car with decent performance numbers. For me though nothing puts a smile on my face than the sound of that flat six behind my head:)

Old sold out Porsche UK are not taking any more enquiries on the new Porsche GT4, let’s hope the people allocated a car , actually keep it and maybe even drive the car a little , rather than flipping the car the follow week, if customers do buy to speculate, then Porsche should stop selling to these types of customers and allow real enthusiasts the opportunity to buy a car direct from the dealership.

hasafi01 yes and no, this maybe the last 6 cylinder we see in the Cayman, I am glad they have gone that way, but with the onset of hybrid and electric battery operated cars, how long will it be until smaller engines with turbos continue to make there way into the sport car market, or eventually eradicated. Porsche make some of the best cars in the world , unfortunately the factory due to its size has a limited amount of production, which doesn’t help supply demand issues, hence the increase in prices in new GT models that are resold. Anyway that’s how I see it , but could be wrong. I am lucky enough to own a 911 Turbo and McLaren 570 GT, would love to own a GT3 RS, but not paying over list for a car and fuelling the business of car flipping.

@@brentpowell7889 I wish nobody would pay over list for sports cars and support car flipping because the only people who flip those cars are not enthusiasts. They see limited cars as investments not toys to have fun with. I am okay with supercars being traded and collected as an investment opportunity because they are not accessible to 99% of the population. But for sports cars like the GT4 and BMW 1M...etc. it is just wrong to let them collect dust and not drive them. Regarding the Hybrid tech making its way to sports cars, I think that might not happen any time soon. Sports cars already use the smallest engines in the lineup and are very under powered and efficient. Hybrid and forced induction will most likely be reserved for bigger engines and GT cars like the 911 Turbo. I think Porsche will still be able to get away with NA engines because they are part of VW group just like Lamborghini. In any case I hope these purist driving machines will continue to have NA engines and a stick at least for the next 5 years.

I love Porche, it has been my dream car since I was a child. But I can't let go the fact that for almost 40.000 less I get a 5 seat sedan, that is one second faster. It can have autonomous driving to be used when you are tired or just need to take control for whatever reason you have or want. It will have almost cero maintenance on engines and transmission and not need to pay for expensive gas. I am hoping they really go electric on this model sooner and at least match the standard specs of from 0 to 60 in 3.4.... Any other products they come out is just a proof that their are getting behind... Who wants a old tech transmission when you can have instant torque?

That looks like a real drivers car...the 718 mid engine design may have the most potential as a capable track car but for now at least Porsche is keeping the 911 the top dog. I own a 2007 997 TT (911 Turbo), 6 spd manual with 24 K miles and a boatload of money spent in a big (68mm) Turbo build...she has 700 WHP on E85 and yet drives like a perfect lady when the Go Pedal isn't used much...but even on modest spurts, at 3,000 rpm you hear the big turbos spool up and you get a kick in the pants...if you step on her she gives you a hyper space kick. Great car...Guards Red with the factory Aerokit, HRE Wheels and a black Carbon Graphite hood...she's my Baby.
