I do not even own a TV set 🤣 However, I wish RS sold Deluxe Coil to private customers. I'd install that one in my bike, which has a bit tight space in front triangle. Cannot fit a decent size bottle and a piggyback shock.

I think fox has a serious problem now. They are harder to set up, way more expensive and more difficult to service. I def. know what my next shock will be

The "older" Super Deluxe prices are going down tho, and you already have proven tuning options like Vorsprung Tractive which has all the kinks worked out (and i'm sure the new SD is not gonna be kink free). So the older Super Deluxe is still a solid option IMO. The coil with the HBO is pretty killer tho if that's what you want.

HBO and progressive can, perfect for Ibis Ripmo and Transition Sentinel riders who weigh more than a twig and don't want to run a cascade link, as both are notorious for being a tad too linear out back.

I couldn't find one of these in stock, and it was still $600... I spent $329 on a lesser Fox for the time being (which is still a big improvement over the bargain-basement Rockshox the bike came with), but I will be upgrading to one of these probably within the year.

You can look out at GMBN tech overview of the new lineup, more in-depth than mike did, but no, newer shock aren't compatible with megneg or older volume spacers

Question - the Fox Float X is said to have a poppy feel (likely due to its small air volume) and the Fox Float X2 is said to have a stable, less-poppy feel (likely due to its large air volume); where does the Super Deluxe Air fit on that spectrum and how will the new linear and progressive air cans move it along that spectrum?

Poppy on one bike, dead on the next. Poppy with a good setup, dead on a bad setup. Shocks behave differently depending on their tune and what frame they are on, then of course the setup.

Does anyone what Rock Shox says about running the coil on bike that run yoke style linkages? I’ve got a 2022 Stunpy Evo…I know Fox does not recommend it. But brands like Push and EXT do.

According to RS, the increased bushing overlap on these new shocks creates a more stiff chassis that is compatible with yoke frames 😀 Hip-hip! (then you say hooray)

@@daxolivares6939 good question. It looks way beefier than the Fox’s but not as wide as Push or EXT. I’m running 245psi in my float x…fortunately it doesn’t loose much air between rides so it’s no trouble to keep it aired up.

Because the default compression settings for the new rockshox stuff is in the "middle" position, should sag be set from the middle compression settings or from fully open?

Great question! We recommend setting sag with the low speed compression *Fully Open* to eliminate any interference from the damper. When setting sag, you're just trying to tune your air spring and fighting against the damper while doing that isn't going to do you any favors! -Tor 😎

Hey Dave! Those are both great shocks and would both work well for a heavier guy as long as you have a coil that's heavy enough for you. I've spent time on both shocks and they are my two favorite rear shocks I've ridden. The Push shock will offer more adjustments than the Rockshox Super Deluxe Coil, so if you're a notorious tinkerer then that could be for you! Or if you're more into the simplicity of the RockShox Shock then that could be for you. Both would be great options on that frame so it comes down to personal preference! -Tor 😎

Right now all of the SDU air shock are being shipped with their Reb/Low Comp tune, and you need to make sure to buy the shock with the correct air can already installed on it! -Tor

I Was able to get a base Trek Fuel exe 9.5🎉 love the bike but want to upgrade the rear shock. Great fully I was able to order the 2023 zeb for the front. I weigh 200lbs wich one do you think i should go for the coil or the air??? The hbo sounds nice on the coil as you said its not offered aftermarket on the air🤔

Hey Jo Jo! Both shocks offer some serious performance and it's hard to be disappointed with either of them, so the choice comes down to personal preference! If you're looking for all out traction, then that coil shock is going to be for you, but if you like popping off every little feature on the side of the trail, the air shock is going to give you a little more lively of a ride! For the most part you can pretty much put these on any bike. I put the Super deluxe coil on my bike which wasn't necessarily designed for a coil and it feels amazing

Hey Jeremy! Unfortunately there's not an easy rule when it comes to which coil spring to run. We like to use TfTuned's spring rate calculator because it takes into account the bike you're riding, your weight, and how you ride. - Tor

@@italianpizza9794 - I've heard yes and no for coil shock fit. I'm asking specifically about the air shock version. The previous generation SDU air shock has a Tallboy tune model with the proper mounting hardware included. I believe it is Low/Low tune.

Hey Stefano! High speed compression affects all parts of the travel, while HBO only affects the progression at the end of the stroke. High speed compression affects performance when the shock is compressing at a high rate of speed anywhere in the travel. Hope this clears things up!

Not to worry! ETA's on the Super Deluxe Ultimate are.... up in the air, but we are hoping mid-July. ZEB's we will have earlier, but you will eventually be able to upgrade to the DebonAir+ and Charger3, both with ButterCups.
