Brady...thanks for the help... just created our first bumper for after Easter... when is the best time to show the bumper. We are really watching time, because we are squeezing in a third service... when is the best time to show the sermon bumper, during announcements, end of worship?? I don't remember if you have a video for it or not.

Hey Christopher - that's so exciting! When it comes to where to play it in your service - it really depends. My church generally shows it right before the sermon, but as part of the announcements is also a common place. :)

Ellis Washington i think they are referring to the King James English KJ English probably sounded more like theUK accent That’s what I took out of it. KJV is what most churches use where I live

@@tiffybec, I considered Felicia's point as well but he was clearly talking about accent as evidenced in the sample video, not the King's English. It's an old practice like in so many movies where Jesus, the Palestinian Jew, has a British accent. In my church, we rarely do KJV and wouldn't be too excited about a UK accent. I loved their response, though!

While I do agree that these bumpers are awesome, I have a problem with this video essentially saying, "Follow these exact steps for an awesome sermon series bumper." This is definitely surprising coming from a channel who's one of the most popular videos is talking about not to copy Elevation Church. Because now what you might see happen is a bunch of these same type of sermon series bumpers with the voice over with the accent, with the serif font, and it's not going to be unique. I do agree that a lot of church videos can be too cheesy, however this is not the way to help change that. We need to foster an atmosphere of creativity and thinking outside of the box besides saying follow this exact step-by-step formula.

We did an episode in the past that talks about the right ways of copying vs. the wrong ways that references the exact video you mentioned: prochurchtools.com/how-to-copy-other-churches-and-get-away-with-it/ Here's an analogy: if you're aspiring to be a great basketball player, it would be wise to study the mechanics and make-up of the best players in the world. And when you're just getting started, learning the fundamentals and sticking to them is a smart strategy. That's what we're recommending here with this sermon bumper workflow - reverse engineer the fundamentals and then learn to use them. We all copy creative workflows like this. Three-point lighting, shutter speed to frame rate ratios, rule of thirds framing, just to name a few. Of course, strategic copying is very different. Should you be using sermon bumpers at all to begin with? That's where copying others can be a dangerous game. But there's a hierarchy here.

They’re making a step by step guide on how to do this. The majority of pastors nowadays are over 50 years of age and don’t have all the knowledge to do something like this but they want to. If you feel that you can do better, by all means, do you bro. But not all people can do that. This helps those people. the moment you can do things better, do it. But until then fake it until you make it.
