I got the SSL trial for 30 days because I'm thinking of getting a UC1. this plugin sounds better than the 9000k I think I prefer the previous plugin design though. 360 needs some work.

The UC-1 is just awesome! I love using it for mixing and it has really changed how I feel about mixing in the box. Being able to grab eq knobs (and a fader on the UF8 at the same time) is the way to mix. It allows us to make fast bold moves and really sculpt the sound with our ears.

Acustica Audio Sand3 Bundle, Tim Petherick L Bus Comp and Allen B SSL Nebula Plugins...will get your 90% of that sound and save you thousands of dollars......

Sadly the Acustica plugins need more cpu than any of my studio computers seem to be able to deliver. But the SSL plugs I can run all day long... (I hear a lot of people praising the sound of the Acustica plugs though!)

Hmm. I'm using the SSL plugins regularly and absolutely love them and how they sound. In fact, I have preferred the SSL channel strip over other brands going all the way back to the Duende versions. 🤷‍♂

Subscription based plugins are an insanely bad choice for the customer. Only a win for the developer. Awful business practice

One thing to consider is that subscriptions might allow companies to keep support and upgrades going for the software they create. Have you ever had a favorite plugin or app (or hardware) that just became obsolete one day because there was no more support for it or the company disappeared?

I'm sitting in one right now. I love having both worlds to work with: real outboard gear and consoles + great digital options. But honestly the most important part is being able to have fun making music isn't it? 👶
