Damn, really felt what you said at 16:32. My buddies can play a game for weeks/months and struggle with parts of it or even get stuck. And for them to then watch me pick up the controller and getting used to how the game plays, controls and pacing, beat the challenge they struggle with almost without issues they get so mad lol. Loved video games for as long as I can remember and especially games that requires a lot of experience/knowledge/grinding/skill to beat like Isaac, Diablo, Dead Cells and especially Metroidvanias. I think the reason I personally struggled with Jacob and Esau is because you have to supplement two health bars with the same amount of health drops as any other normal character. With two separate hitboxes, you’re taking twice as much damage on average, without the same amount of HP drops to compensate. Ironically, that’s why I found their Greed Mode unlocks to be a bit easier than their others. Any soul hearts you find in the shop are worth way more since you can buy as many as you need.

I think the buff to Flip is nice because it makes boss rush easier to get to? IMO the hardest clear with Tainted Laz was Boss rush for me, since you have to do a huge backtrack to get power to get to boss rush, so this makes getting that a lot nicer

With how often people are trying to find mistakes to make "mattman moment" comments, I am shocked that nobody pointed out at 4:50 that Matt got 2 stat downs and 3 stat ups instead of the normal 4 with Experimental, meaning he knows he got a HP up even before taking the floor transition. I guess it's because he immediately addresses he just wants an excuse to go angels (mattman moment btw) but still.

I think regular Jacob & Esau is harder than Tainted Jacob tbh. Tainted Jacob requires you to be moving a lot but it gets a lot easier to learn if you try to use dark Esau as your main damage due to him dealing a lot of it.

People don't like Jacob and Esau because the minimal benefits you get for playing the character don't feel like a good trade for the challenge. Think how powerful the lost, tainted keeper, tainted eve, or even tainted Jacob are, despite being challenging characters. You can clearly see the benefit you get for the characters' drawbacks, but J&E get... Minor minmax efficiencies and the ability to take two choice items. Doesn't feel worth it.

honestly i wouldnt rule out hiking just because of your lifestyle. im totally the same way, i hardly leave the house and im on the computer like most of the day, but i still really love hiking. i used to be way more active but i really only get to hike like maybe once every other month if i find the motivation, so i'm super out of shape lol. but still, i hate the stigma that hiking is some super strenuous or super long exercise. it's literally just walking. you can decide what hike you're going on, so do some research beforehand and see if there's any trails nearby that are more flat so you wont struggle as much. if you're worried about your physical ability, bring some snacks and stuff to keep you energized, and if you start to feel tired then you can always just turn around and head back. you can decide for yourself when you want to be done, and if that's 2 hours, or only like 15 minutes, that's totally fine. you don't have to reach any destination if you're just out enjoying nature. i just live in the pacific northwest and theres some beautiful areas out here, id hate for you to rule out enjoying nature just because of the way you live.

The disses on Jar of Wisps make me feel like I'm insane. Maybe it's just 'cause I play co-op usually, so I always have two active item slots, but it was really powerful, especially with any charge items! It and either double use or book of virtues was already two (high health) wisps per room, let alone the four you can get with both. Now it's eight, EIGHT wisps per room, ideally... honestly a busted item imo, massively underrated. 29:46 v for more :)

I only like Jacob and Esau if I’m playing with the mod that gives both of them flight if one of them gets it. They are infuriating to control if one has flight and the other doesn’t. Also recommend the mod that lets them start with the Options items so you can do the alt floor trick every time. Kind of cheaty but they’re annoying so I don’t feel bad about it.

The reason I don't like jacob and esau is because it's just harder to not get hit through the entire game It just isn't fun to play I LOVE tainted lost, depsite dying way more with tainted lost I LOVE tainted jacob as well, even though I probably also die more but with jacob and esau it just feels like it's not in my control if I get hit or not (I know it is, but that's just how it feels)
