The 1908 is spectacular in all the right ways. I prefer the green face-- it takes it to a whole other level. Love this watch and I'm not a Rolex guy. I don't like the idea of wearing something everyone has... but this watch is classy, sexy, refined and yet you could wear it with something that is dressy casual. Nice video-- thanks.

Love the history and in-depth info you always give Oscar. Having tried on a Patek Calatrava before, dress watches like the Calatrava and the 1908 aren’t really my cup of tea, however, the 1908 seems to be a bit more interesting than the Calatrava. Is there not also a platinum version of the 1908 with an ice blue tapestry effect dial? The dial sputtering you mentioned I’m sure is/was the same process Rolex use to apply the platinum colour to their ceramic bezels. I’m sure I read this somewhere before.

ANDREW MY DEAR BOY!!! Lovely to see your name feels like it’s been a while but I’ve been doing loads of filming days so maybe just my head spinning. 1908 totally shocked me actually. Not a dress watch guy by any means but I’d take one of these in a heartbeat. The platinum has a guilloche which takes it to another level but I think it’s a bit higher in price. The other reason this white one got me going is by comparison to its competitors it’s aggressively priced in the market. Thanks for watching Mr Coats 🎯🤝🎉

@andrewcoats911 I think they must be at least a tad more accessible than the usual suspects such as Panda, Pepsi etc purely on the fact the younger crowd probably wouldn’t be in the market for dress watches right out the gate however the open caseback aspect might have made it the winner with collectors in my opinion. Time will tell I suppose 👀🥳

I really like the 1908 and that colour/precious metal combo is my favourite of those on offer. It does look a little delicate and I can imagine you'd have to be careful with it. Have to say however that given the price, and the vintage aesthetic Rolex have gone for, I'd certainly choose the Cellini Prince or the Patek Gondolo ahead of this.

Nick my dear fellow!!! I’m totally in agreement this would be the kind of combo I’d go for but I did also have a Patek ‘Sector Dial’ in hand at the time. While that did look more fancy it felt dramatically more delicate to me than the 1908 purely just as it’s 2024 Rolex and they’ve clearly come so far. The movement alone is a work of art and as I said dress watches aren’t necessarily a ‘go to’ for me but we learn as we go!!! 🙌🎉
