Two Peregrine Falcons arrive in Trondheim with alarming news. Yellowstone National Park, the oldest one on earth and one of the greatest wildlife refuges in the world is in trouble. The many species of protected animals there are acting strange. Not even the Gnomes of Yellowstone know what the problem is. David, Lisa and Tomte set out to solve the mystery. In route to Yellowstone on their Geese friends, the Gnomes are sprayed by a crop dusting plane. Upon closer inspection of the farm below, David learns that the neighboring farms to the national park are pouring highly toxic herbicides and pesticides on their fields. Meanwhile, the Trolls get into the poison chemicals, disintegrate, and are washed away in the rain. When David, Lisa and Tomte join the Yellowstone Gnomes, they go exploring with all their senses, gathering clues to the mystery. As they all come back together beside Yellowstone Lake and combine their clues, David realizes that the lake is being poisoned by the farm chemicals via underground waters.
