I strongly disagree with Vanity’s take on Gumigoo. Are we really supposed to believe that Pomni mentioning him means he didn’t leave much of an impression on her just because of the tone of her voice? That doesn’t make much sense. While her voice may be steady, it doesn’t mean his death didn’t affect her. She’s likely just trying to hold herself together. The fact that Pomni even mentions Gumigoo indicates that he’s still on her mind.

After watching Ghostfuckers, my mind came back to this episode and it made me think about how I wished Helluva Boss had more bonding moments like this. Like Blitzo and Millie having an episode together getting to know each other better, then the part where she calls him her best friend feels more earned. Like I really appreciate the slow burn of Pomni finally acknowledging how she was being unappreciative to Ragatha. Digital Circus always felt like a warm blanket that smells kind of weird. Flawed in some ways yes, but it excels at establishing character relationships. I do hope Pomni does get an episode that’s just about her though. Because my only grievance with episode 3 is that I worry about every episode having big emotional moments or subplots being dropped (I wasn’t fond of Zooble’s plot just…. Ending)

HEAVILY disagree with the take about Zooble’s therapy being out of no where and “awkward”. I actually really like how Zooble’s therapy session is where the reality of their situation really sets in. I honestly love the contrast between goofy and emotional and just… this quiet, solemn feeling of personal unhappiness over something they can’t control. I also think that their dysphoria isn’t really something you can set up as overt. A lot of trans people who experience otherness tend to keep to themselves and Zooble is a very quiet character, so I don’t mind them finally letting the walls down and confessing their problems only for it to not really get acknowledged because Caine treats these characters like they’re children and not complex adults.

thank you his zooble take was a bit iffy in a sense. It wasn’t really built up in the best way but the show gives us a clues to it during its first two episodes when we see zooble with different parts in each episode. A part of me finds this episode to feel a little flat on execution due to the overabundance of tell based writing. So much of what we're supposed to be feeling and thinking is told to us instead of allowing us to come to these conclusions on our own. I see this issue in regard to modern animation in general, but having more silent moments within Kinger's monologue of him just pondering more would do wonders for the episode. This issue extends to Zooble as well as how Kinger's plot progresses. So much of how both progress is through so much tell based dialogue, I don't mind it on paper, but in execution it felt contrived. ESPECIALLY for Zooble's subplot. Bojack has this exact issue, but a lot of its tell based dialogue can still convey an underlying idea within its work. The View From Halfway Down is the perfect example of this, in my opinion. Lackadaisy: Inguene is also another good example of this as well! It has a higher emphasis on quieter moments and using its environment to explore the short's plot, and the character driven approach of the story.

@@VenIGuess “come up with these conclusions on our own” is the most boring Trope in media im sorry I don’t really get what’s flat? @waffie6785 Allowing the audience to come up with their own conclusions is... a trope now? What? It's a writing tool allowing the audience to connect more with the media that they watch. My issue isn't the lesson either. It's the ways in which it was delivered that felt so expository and forced.

You know, I think this is the first time I strongly disagree with Vanity. TADC episode 3 is mid. Overall, the episode is fine, Kinger and Pomni's scene together is a great example of how to make a seemingly cliche scene into an emotional driven moment that is easily the best scene in the series, this is without a doubt Caine's best episode cuz *lore* But this episode can feel PAINFULLY dragged out, the horror style is really good, but the writing for the horror is a hit or miss, and its mostly missing, Zooble feels like a plot device for Caine (I know they does get a little more characterization, but after 2 EPISODES of doing nothing, I wanted them to at least do something instead of just telling us their problems), and this is more of a nitpick but I think its worth mentioning cuz this is in the dark psychological comedy genre that this episode fails at comedy. Maybe this video will change my mind slightly, maybe not, but thinking of it THIS HIGHLY of it caught me tf out guard. Still respect the opinion tho, and I can't wait to hear your explanation.

I agree with basically everything said here (and more). This episode was truly great and I cannot stress this enough. That being said, it might just be a me thing, but I kind-of still don't really like Pomni. I feel like she only truly shines when she's in the company of others (see this episode, or her coming up with the collision idea in Episode 2 when she's with Gumigoo). But when she's alone, she's panicking all the time. It's because of this that my feelings on her shift drastically. I strongly disliked in Pilot, grew to somewhat like her in Candy Carrier Chaos, only to feel indifferent towards her here. To me, she's definitely the weakest GLITCH main character, because she does not truly shine on her own. It's just her panicking endlessly and she never truly establishes herself beyond that.
