a little bit of a lesson for those who keep saying that Indian's are asian. while it is true that India is in Asia. Indians are not from the mongoloid race. they are part of the Caucasoid Race ie caucasion. they are simply on the dark end of the spectrum of Caucasian which spans from pinkish white to olive skinned to dark like Indian's

John Castillo I think you're just missing the fact that in North America referring to asians is the same as referring to orientals, whereas bengalis and indians are referred to as indian or bengali, and pakistanis are more middle eastern. No one says indians aren't asian unless theyre stupid, you just dont refer to them as "asians"

Since the Eastern Asians came here to the states first before the rest, so people here think "ok they're Asians." The people you describe Japanese, Chinese, also including India and Pakistan and so on are Asian but properly called by their nation's name, but yes they're not usually called Asian, but technically they are. It goes the same thing with Africans, when people think of Africans they think of black people which is only half true. I'm Filipino but people known me as being Asian even though I don't look "Asian."
