I got to see Sammy Davis Jr in 1971 at the Westbury Music fair on Long Island NY. It was a theater in the round where the stage was in the middle and the audience sat in a circle around him. My seat was right next to the stage and he put on a magnificent performance. It’s so sad about the hate and abuse he suffered because of his skin color. His abilities and talent were absolutely amazing.

Sammy DVis, Jr. was talented in singing, dancing, tap, acting, and many different musical instrunents from brass to winds to keyboard to drums. Not many in his time did all that and that is what the racial discrimination was about. He never had to complain that he did not get performance jobs and have others force people to hire him because of the ongoing changes in tge music industry.
