The Night Sentinel Lore and Physiology Explored | From Righteous Soldier to Demonic Marauder

At first, the Argenta were a fairly proud and noble race. That was until the Maykr nation attacked. Shortly after the discover of hell energy, it became clear what needed to be done, atleast in the eyes of the maykrs. They would set up factories and harvest other species for their souls. Half the Night Sentinels would turn against their former gods. Others would join them. Those that stayed with the Maykrs, upon their expiration would be risen by the demonic energy to become the Marauders. In todays episode, we will discuss what happened and the physiology of these soldiers!

They invaded his world, killed his friends, killed him (seriously at the end of the first Doom episode Knee Deep in the Dead Doomguy dies and goes to The Shores of Hell where he resumes ripping and tearing), destroyed most of all he knew and then they invaded Earth and killed his rabbit. Dude is done. He's enacting a scorched earth (hell?) policy on the demons. Also I don't think he can really be killed again. I know gameplay wise you can die but lorewise. I think dying once has put him in some kind of limbo where the power of his unbridled rage and hate and spite keeps him together as some kind immortal soul that exists to destroy everything that hell has touched.

All of monster hunter world's monsters are pretty interesting biologically, from the beginner Pukei - Pukei to endgame monsters like Raging Brachydios and Safi'Jiva. I suggest vaal since you seem to enjoy analyzing fictional pathogens and Vaal's got a special relationship with his ambient bacteria that is otherwise harmful. Also, World have been out for 3 years already and still holds the title of the best looking Monster Hunter game, graphics wise

It looks like the original sentinel armor was reused everywhere it was possible. The Argent energy capacitor is new, but not much else is. The marauder's midriff was probably covered originally by their armor when they were undemonic, then reused with alterations after the change. It looks like that part of the armor, which would most likely be something like Kevlar or a chain mail equivalent, has torn away. You can see the jagged edged remaning above his belt.

I'm surprised the Marauder didn't try to fix the chest portion at first until you think about why they don't bother which the answer might be about mobility, easier to reach a gun as well as having a quicker slash at your opponent could be good examples as to why the chest plate isn't being fully fixed but I wouldn't mind hearing your idea as to why.

@@Coretide660 I think the main cause would be the necessity of it. The demon version is an upgrade from human/sentinel, so they probably wouldn't feel the need to cover the same things. If you are hunting a rhino, you bring a big gun. If you are hunting a deer, a normal human sized gun will do. The Doomslayer is like a charging elephant and the Marauder is geared for bear. They probably don't normally encounter Doomslayer level targets ever in their March across the universe. Mobility is probably an issue, too, so you are exactly right. Conceptwise, they are supposed to evoke a gladiatorial fighter, and they typically have a bare midriff with shoulder armor in modern depictions, whether historical or not.

@@CNNBlackmailSupport I can see that being the case when it comes to them having being prepared for hunting targets like Samuel Hayden for example, I wish they added a cyber version that clearly was meant for the DoomSlayer and have him be like a boss on it's own due to the nature of the "Cyber Marauder" being centered around killing the DoomSlayer but much better then the Doom Hunter (as a joke as we both know Doom Guy would just kick his ass anyway) but I get what you mean.

The shoulder armor of the marauder appears to be the same thickness and size of a train wheel. Oddly enough, my property includes a ravine 20ft deep that is normally bone dry, but during heavy rain gets filled almost to the top with rushing water. Now that it's cold, I can go through the decades of scrap that has washed up on the edges during floods. I found a train wheel today buried under a bunch of tin roof sheets and a toolbox for a massive pickup truck bed. This fucking wheel is solid steel and weighs around 120 lbs if I had to guess. The armor the marauder is wearing is probably closer to 400 or 500 lbs. Look at the boots! The sides are about 2 to 4 inches thick all the way around. (but my wife thinks it's 12 because... well, nevermind.) Human armor can weigh 80 lbs for a normal human. For the big boys it gets heavier. The doomslayer may look like he is wearing green painted marshmallows, but the marauder makes them look svelt.

Most folks might pick the Monsterverse version, but I actually think Shin Godzilla is a better one for you to dissect since the science behind it is a major driving force for his movie; his genetics and overall biological makeup are much more important in that movie, and they go into more depth about it. Plus, multiple forms to analyze individually and the biology of shifting between them!

Heck even King Novik and the other kings are taller than marauders, so In a way, even without hells energy, they can still grow in time as the kings are olders meaning that as the Knight Sentinels grow older, they become taller and stronger as Night Sentinel laws dictate that if you are weak and cannot even lead armies at the front, you will be ousted and replaced with more powerful kings and also with the new dlc, it was shown that even when alive, they went through the divinity as a process of the maykrs plan to find the destroyer and they all turned insane.

I'd say a Marauder's "infection" if you wanna call that is still growing. Look at the red crystal on his chest. It looks like its say a "seed" and its slowly budding. I'd say it's affecting straight to his heart so it's coursing thro his veins turning him that way. If you look at it you can see that weird spider web like veins shooting away from it. His veins in his arm are also affected but if it is in his heart and being pumped thro his blood via injecting into the heart then ya makes sense. I'd say that red crystal or what ever is channeling the energy into him to affect him through out the whole body at once instead of just heavily altering one or a few aspects.

Something that I wonder is whether or not the Slayer in 3rd person is actually accurate compared to demons. In first person, the Marauder does look taller, however he doesn’t look that much taller. It’s kinda strange, because even as the Slayer, lore wise he should be much taller than regular humans as well. Like in the Mars Core cutscene where we grab the plasma rifle from him, the soldier there seems roughly the same height. But if that’s the case, that human is way above the average height of any normal person.

Yet the Marauder can catch a punch and an Arch-Vile can get the DOOM Slayer in a struggling state for a second when he atemps to slam his left claw hand at the slayer. I do not think so. If anything, the Cyberdemon's armor was organic, while the Marauder's was either grafted or worn. But both could have enhancements, if the Cultist Marauder skin is canon.

You know I've been wondering I read somewhere that non-urgent infused weapons has minimal effect on demons because apparently aside from being able to take massive damage they're also really hard to damage I heard on Reddit that even an imp has flesh as strong as iron and bone as strong as Steel (does anyone know where this lore comes from) and the new Baron has skin as hard as obsidian which makes me wonder how strong the Marauders bones and flash actually are anyone got any ideas?
