Z32 got big and expensive. It’s, imo, one of the most beautiful cars ever made. I had a 91 pearl white 2+2(I had 2 kids at the time) and it was ❤. The z33 was a return to the every man’s sports car. It has styling that makes it instantly recognizable and great performance for the 25k you could get one for new. A true z car.

@davetheskyguy3 ай бұрын
@@jacquesc3166 Yes I did. My dad (who worked at Ford on the original 64.5 Mustang launch) had recently been to Pikes Peak, and that helped inspire me on the overall naming convention...hence Pikes Peak White. For Redline, didn't come from Porsche/Ferrari, a little bit simpler...I had been talking with the engineers and one of them had said "This engine is happy at the redline"...and there it was. While we did benchmark the heck out of Porsche, we were trying to beat them, not to be them.

I've long thought the 350Z is/will be a future classic. I think it's lines are just so classic. The 370, and the new Z both look good. But they don't compare to the 350, despite being not all that different. I always thought the G Coupe was the one to get. Wanted one of those soooo bad in 2004/2005 when they released. Especially after seeing THE RUN... filmed in Prague. It was a blast to own in 04! I still get compliments today 20 years later. Other than the original Z, the 350Z still looks the most unique and original. The other models are to close to their prior models. The 300 in the 90's was probably second runner for originality. The stopper for me on the 350Z was 2 carryon luggage would not fitted in the rear cargo area because of the cross bar in the middle. The designer never thought about the Z car as a daily driver and touring car on long trip. The luggage would fit in the trunk of G35 but it was more than I could afford. The real down side was the coupe had seen its days.

although it was a short iteration the 2007 to 2009 model year (soft top only) were honestly imo perfection there was nothing more to add to the Z than boost, the HR in Full Bolt ons form is able to get 340-350WHP on E85 extracting 100HP per liter at not just the crank but the wheels, at the crank the car is exceeding 100hp per liter, there are MANY HRs running 340-350RWHP very very impressive for what people would call "just" a V6 .... Hell of a lot more impressive than dodges pentastarts which relied on a short gear ratio of 8 gears just to achieve slower speeds than a Jatco 5at or 6MT on fbo

This car was a backwards step, because there were 2 great generations of turbocharged cars since the 240,260,and 280. Then you go with a normally aspirated car? The market says otherwise. The new Z was a flop and “affordable” is relative. The base trim I suppose, but the desirable performance trim is 10k more. The market has plenty of other (better) options in that price range. Which is why these have been a hard sell. Turbocharged engines meant increased stress and complexity. Just look at how complicated the Z32 engine bay is. What I loved about my 280z was how easy it was to work on. NA inline 6 L28. Nissan was complicating the Z, although the Z31 and Z32 were fun cars, they had their issues. Nissan went back to the basics and simplified it, and look at how long they’ve held up. I do love turbocharged cars, my R32 GTR was exhilarating. But man I was always worried about those turbos blowing.
