@@shamlikarande5313 Because Kein is use only singular noun but keine is use plural noun, so tomaten is plural and that why the teacher used keine

In 6:17, when we say "Das sind Weintrauben". Why cant we say "Das sind die Weintrauben"? Dont we speak about certain grapes that we are referring in the picture? Dont they become when we refer them as in this example?

Hi I just have a question regarding the last part (grapes). Bit difficult to phrase on here but here I go. So, “sind das Tomaten” but we have das before Tomaten and I thought that it would therefore be neutral however, tomateN means plural so how come it doesn’t read “sind DIE Tomaten” instead?

Amazing video. I'm currently at level 1 learning german and these videos are so helpful. I have one question though. How do you tell when to use klein(e) vs nicht. Like when I first started learning I learned to say that you don't understand a language as "Ich verstehe kein englisch" for example. In that situation why couldn't one say "Ich verstehe nicht englisch."

Thank you. This is very helpful, but it doesn't solve the problem of determining gender. It seems to be impossible to construct correct sentences if you only know the nouns but you cannot remember whether they are masculine, feminine, or neuter. What would be very helpful, would be if somebody could publish a comprehensive list, so that if you have a noun, for example 'wohnung', then you could just look it up, and it would produce 'feminine' (or whatever the correct gender is for 'wohnung'). If such a list exists, where can I get it?

That is the problematic part of the German language, there are no rules or principles to identify, with use, one will have the feeling already what article fits the Nomen

tashi lama I'm not sure but I think it's because it's an indefinite article and so it's not saying 'the tomatoes' but rather just 'tomatoes'. Hope that helps :)

Yes 'die Tomaten' is plural from of die Tomate But here 'das' isn't in article position.Also Anja says at 3:25 there is no indefinite article for plural.

Her videos are pretty good, but there is a little too much German, to the point where I get confused, I keep having to pause and read and try to understand what is written. I understand immersion and everything, but truthfully, I think she needs to speak more English and write more in English when explaining content. I am also learning French and I am way more advanced in French because of the method of speaking and writing in my native language to explain grammatical concepts. See, that's why I hate the word 'laufen' to mean walk OR run. If a bear is in a forest, how am I supposed to picture what it's doing when there are 2 choices that could both be correct?
