They even address it on their site :P "A score of 10 is the highest recommendation we can give. 10s represent ambitious games that succeed in ways few games have, and that we expect will be part of the gaming conversation for some time. These are the "must-plays." However, this is not a "perfect" score. We've never played a perfect game." By their own stated review scale, it seems very reasonable to me that PUBG is a 10/10 and I have never (and probably will never) play the game.

Ace Combat might be niche, but there's far worse friggin' questions to be dismissive of in Tower Unite's trivia than that, and they just let the dumb Dead Rising question go, which was far more specific and way worse. Cipher at least means "Zero," if nothing else.

Dark Souls has the best feel. Dark Souls 2 has the best character builds. Dark Souls 3 has the best general combat and movement. Just my two cents.

I sort of agree but for some reason I love DS 2 the most and hate DS3 the most. DS 2 get's shit all the time but it's still of a similarly built world as DS 1. DS 1 is built like a spiderweb, DS 2 is built like a tree, and DS 3 is just a fuckin' straight line with a disconnected hub which is garbage.

In regards to polygon giving pubg a 10/10 it is insulting to think it is in the same category as zelda ocorina in time and with the analogy to grading it is a bad analogy because there is a set rubric for assingments in which they are graded there is no real rubric for video games but for a buggy peice of trash pubg is to receive a 10/10 spits in the face of games like halo c.e. which doesn't have a 10/10 but deserves it 10 fold. But whatever i have 150hrs in pubg 10/10 like skyrim but with more skydiving.

I actually thought Assassin's Creed Origins was very good, easily worthy of an 8 or 8.5. I don't like PUBG but I have no issue with it being a 10/10 because it's just an opinion. People take grading systems way too seriously when they actually mean nothing because they're all based off of opinions. There have been plenty of games that were rated very low that I have loved and rated very high that I abhorred (cough cough Undertale). The people at Polygon LOVE PUBG, therefore, 10/10. Same with NL. The grading systems and game critics in general should no longer be taken seriously these days. All the really should matter is your experience and then your opinion with a game.

Josh is correct. Dark Souls 2 is the best game in the series. Austin's opinions on it are just >objectively false. DS2 has proportionally less "man in armour" bosses than DS1, and Throne Defender/Watcher are the best 2-boss fight in the entire series (they actually fight together with decent AI, and the fight imposes many interesting strategic decisions for the player(s) to make on the spot). DS1 is a great game, but it's unfinished and unpolished - and it shows. DS3 is garbage (DAE remember these things from the other games? well, that's all the content really lulz). DS2 is polished and working DS1.

2 is a strange one and def has more appeal for casuals. i think most serious souls fans would put ds2 on the bottom of the list for many reasons. not to say its a bad game i like 2 a lot. but i think 1 and 3 are leagues better imo watcher and defender is a neat fight with a clever mechanic to work around but my personal favorite 2x boss fight is friede and ariandel

I actually agree. DS2 I love the most in the series and I hated DS3. I had zero issue with the enemy design in DS2, I do not get the hate on the enemy designs. Also the game world was built similarly to DS1, just in a different way. It was still open world. DS1 was a spiderweb. DS2 was a tree with Majula being the trunk and the paths being the branches and root, and DS3 is just a fucking straight line with a disconnected hub which was trash.
