These pods are the best new content Jim. I love the long form format and getting to know players in new ways. You ask good questions and pick great guests. Keep up the insane work. The grundo was the Neopet in question.

This was the first one of these podcasts where I thought I didn't know the guest, but then at the start of the podcast, I went "Oh wait I do actually know this guy lmao"

Hi Jim. Enjoying the content. I think a talk with the speedrunner werster would be very interesting as a clash of Australian minds.

The funny thing about the NL Luxray incident is that people have been saying forever that Luxray should be/looks like an Electric/Dark-type, yet Twitter forgot that completely for the sake of being angry at him. I'll say there is _some_ consistency when it comes to typing, a lot of it's sorta being in the know: Runerigus is made of clay which Pokemon calls 'Ground', dragonflies aren't called as much in Japanese hence Yanmega, Dark-types are typically characterized as mean/underhanded/violent/tied to misfortune which doesn't really reflect anything Luxray does. But otherwise I guess a lot of it's for gameplay reasons
@InsertFunnyThingHere7 ай бұрын
I mean they've given normal type to unfitting mons a lot over the years just because it'd be a cool typing and things like absol got the dark typing while a lot of pokemon that use underhanded messed up tactics canonically didn't get the typing, so at this point I don't see why not give luxray dark type
@tangerinepaint36436 ай бұрын
tbh I'm not a huge fan of Luxray being Electric/Dark because a weakness to Fairy, Fighting, and U-turn (or First Impression if in UU) is no good, and besides, that damn cat needs more than just a type change to make it at least useable in RU. Ain't no way it's making use of that 95 SpA so I say slash that down to something like 60 or 70 then give all those points to speed. Obv it needs actual coverage moves as well.

when he said that bolt the zapdos was a reference to bolt the bird from magic i actually lost my shit a little. that's such a cool nickname origin

Very fun chats! Enjoyed all the Video Game talk, nostalgia certainly is making a comeback, as it seems to for most generations lol

28:00 Really genuinely undergoing the process of looking for streamer clips of them talking about something as inconsequential and insubstantive as spaghetti really helps me understand the challenge running mentality, funnily enough lmao. 39:00 I like the point a lot about why he chooses to do things like shiny hunting despite the option to just generate.

Hi Jim. I am not too familiar with the newer Pokemon so it would help me, if you could show a picture of threm on screen while they are being discussed. Just to take this podcast to the next level ❤

1:15:00 one interesting thing about Drill Dozer is that it is actually developed by Game Freak! One of the rare non-pokemon games developed by GF after pokemon was already out.

The MTG segment where Toasty talked about the Hatsune Miku crossover got me frustrated all over again. I only learned there was a Miku secret lair (event sale) _after_ it had happened, and the kicker was IT WAS LIMITED TIME!! They _never_ did that, and the one time I actually want to consume product, THEY SWITCH TO LIMITED QUANTITY. Now I can't get it because I wasn't in the know at the time, and like _hell_ am I giving my money to a scalper who'll charge TEN TIMES THE ORIGINAL SALE PRICE 😭😭😭

I found it funny that cartridges are getting expensive when you literally can emulate the games (and ever better with catch em all versions) for free.
